My fiance and I live 3 and a half hours away from where I'm from, and my bridal party lives down there too. However, my fiance's family and friends live where we do. Here's my predicament:
1. My FMIL didn't have a big wedding. It was quick and simple and she just doesn't get why I'm planning such a big event and everything and it really gets to me. Her other family members are just the same.
2. MY family, likes to make it a social event and its always been fun planning for my cousins and siblings' weddings. I've been doing most of the work and planning, since everyone is 3+ hours from where I live.
My main concern is not having the families get along. My fiance's family won't travel anywhere because, and I quote from my FMIL 'Well, we've never been down there. We don't know if we'll even like it." Wonderful right?
And my family has no problem coming up here for any bridal parties and stuff, but I have no one to throw one for me. And i'd hate to have to miss out on something I'd regret not doing for my wedding, especially since I've planned my sister's and cousins' bridal showers.
What should I do?
