how much should we be spending on the rehearsal dinner we are planning on having about 20-25 ppl...

    How much do you have in your budget for the RD?  Really, you can do whatever you want.  Some people have backyard BBQs, others go to a casual pizza restaurant, some do something fancier.  We had our RD at nice Italian restaurant because that's what MIL wanted.  Including alcohol, it cost about $30 per person.

    Sara said it exactly.  It's really whatever you can afford.  We chose a fairly "usual" meal for our wedding dinner (chicken, carved roast beef, pasta, etc.) so we went with a luau menu for our RD.  It was fun!

    Just like PP it depends on what you can afford or what style you would like....something casual like a BBQ or something a bit fancier? We are just having a BBQ at our house and are planning on spending around $200 total.

    my SIL had hers at a real fancy place it was about 50 a plate
