Pre-wedding Parties

Organising friends bachelorette (we call it hen) party. HELP!!

So my best friend is getting married in august and her cousin is organising it. She's only 18, final year in school so a lot of stress and has never done anything like this and asked me to help out. I'm only a few years older and never been to or organised one either and I'm working abroad. She has a fab hotel booked for a really good deal  for 2 nights but we don't know how to ask people for the deposit. It's for 20 people. We need transport to a place about 3 hours away and ideas for what to do. I'm thinking grafitti party some night (wear white and have messages written all over) but need a lot more ideas, preferably not too many neon pink feathery penis ones. We are at a lodd to know what to do, what's the norm etc. We are in Ireland so maybe etiquite is different? Also we don't want things to be too expensive, for example the hotel will be only $100/€125 for 2 nights and a dinner. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Re: Organising friends bachelorette (we call it hen) party. HELP!!

  • Bog jumping - no kidding went to a hens at Causey Farm and this was one of the activities! Dont suggest doing it! lol But we did a whole lot os other things like milking cows, dancing, drinking etc

We do all kinds of things at hens night (I am in Australia) and it depends entirely ont he crowd. Mostly it is go out and dance and some have strippers. Others are the wilder pink penis' everywhere and daring people to do things- like ask for a guys undies or 3 phone numbers etc.

If they are more tame- girly nights in together then maybe some games like the toilet paper wedding dress game?

  • While I love the idea of bog jumping and milking I can't imagine the bride getting down and dirty, not exactly a country girl!! The paper wedding dress is a good one though, thanks!! I'm asking some of the women I work with but since we work on a ship we're pretty out of touch with what goes on.
  • Thant's exactly what we don't want to do (the invoice guests thing). I wouldn't want it being done to me. It is a recession after all. That's the difficult bit, trying to get the balance right because at home here everyone chips in their own cost normally.
  • Ooh that's a good one too! Much appreciated!!
