Anyone not having rehersal dinner invitations

My mom thinks rehersal dinner invitations are pointless and that people will know they are Invited to the dinner if they need yo be at the rehersal. Thoughts?

Re: Anyone not having rehersal dinner invitations

  • I agree with your mom. You can let all the people involved know that you will be hosting a dinner after the rehearsal but you don't need formal invitations. It's pretty much a given.
  • I am not having RD invites.  It will just be our famiilies and WP there so they are all going to know about it.  It will be after the rehearsal so its kind of not necessary and just another thing to o.

If it is going to be a lot of people.  Say you are having an OOT wedding and a lot of guests are coming up the night before and they are all invited then I would say yes to the invites.

  • We did an e-vite for the RD but our RD was more of a super casual Welcome to AZ party for the out-of-towners.

  • The only people who attended the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner were those directly involved in the wedding (wedding party), my parents, his parents and the parents of the children in the wedding (my sisters and their husbands) so no, I did not send out invites :)

  • We did an e-vite for the rehearsal dinner only because we invited everyone's significant other & a few out of town guests and we needed a headcount for the restaurant.  Otherwise, word of mouth is fine.
