Rehearsal Dinner: Does wedding party bring dates?

My FIL's asked me if the guests should be allowed to bring dates or not to the Rehearsal Dinner, I felt a little bad since they are paying for it to say 'Oh yeah, they should be able to bring dates".  What is the protocol for this? TIA!

If they have a significant other, then they should be invited to bring that person.  But you don't need to let them bring a random guest just so they have a date.

So if your BM is married, your MOH is engaged, and your BM has a boyfriend, those people should be invited.

And I'd add that if you have WP members coming from out of town whom you invited to bring a guest - relationship or just any guest so they didn't have to travel alone - it's a nice gesture to invite that person as well.

Anyone in the WP who is already invited to the wedding with a date should be allowed to bring that person to the RD as well.

    Ditto this...

Most of our wedding party was either married, engaged, or in a longstanding relationship so they had dates to the wedding and the RD. But the ones who were single didn't bring a random person just to have a date at the RD.

If any member of your wedding party was invited to your wedding with a SO then they should also be invited to the RD.

When my sister got married her FILs threw the RD and only allowed OOT SOs, therefore one of her BMs husband was not invited and even our brother's GF, it was BS and weird.
