Mother-in-law

My future mother in law is so excited that I am marrying her son. She tells me that she loves me and I'm so wonderful. However, she has not offered to pay for any of the wedding so far and has not uttered a word about a shower. What should I do?

Nothing. Your FMIL is not obligated to contribute $$ for your wedding or throw a shower for you. If she wants to contribute, she will let you know.

You keep your mouth shut.  If she offers something, you can accept.

Is this for real?? Who in their right mind assumes someone is contributing to a wedding if it isnt their own?

You dont know their exact finacial situation of what they are comfortable or capable of spending money on. Weddings are your obligation, not hers.
