E Party Questions

Hi Ladies,

My BMs and I don't really know what goes on at an EParty but they offered to throw me one.  My mom offered to pay.

My MOH asked me for a list of invites and a theme- 

I've read that i should only invite people who will also be invited to the wedding, and that I shouldnt invite the entire wedding to the E party- how do i pick who to invite?

My FI and I live togeather in Philly, our family and most of our friends are between 3-5hours drive away.  The party will be at our house-



Also, for theme- do people generally go with the same theme as the wedding, or something similar, something completely different?

Invite just your closest friends and family.  Think of the group of people that you ran to FIRST to spread word of your engagement. These are the people you probably want to celebrate with. 

There doesn't need to be a theme for your e-party.  It's a celebration of our engagement.  Leave it at that.

Usually you invite close friends and family to the engagement party. Ours was our families, close cousins, grandparents, and our closest friends and it was a cocktail party with hors d'oeuvres. There wasn't really a theme except for the celebration of our engagement and my mom decorated in the wedding colors we had picked out already.

Our E-Party is next weekend. My FI parents are divorced and were gonna plan it together but his mother is crazy, so now just his dad and step-mother are doing it. We are just inviting family, wedding party and some close friends. I just wanted everyone to hang out and for my parents and his parents to mingle. We all like LSU football, so that's what the party is scheduled around. We are just eating, drinking and watching football. Hopefully it will be fun.
