Work Bridal Shower

Hey guys. I just had a quick question.

My fiance's law firm is throwing us a bridal shower.  His secretary is throwing it for us and just sent me an email asking when the best day was for us.  She discussed a thrusday evening but I had in mind a saturday because otherwise I will have to take off work (FI is in Charleston and I live in Atlanta).   Are Fridays or Saturdays typically better days for people to go to a shower (since it's a 'work' shower).

The work showers we do have always been during work hours.  I would consider attending one right after work, but I probably wouldn't attend a work shower on a weekend as I don't normally socialize with coworkers on the weekend anyways.

Since this is a work shower, I'd really suggest that it is after work on a Friday.  I mean this politely, but there is no way that I'd give up a Saturday to go back to work and honor someone who I don't even work with.  I would actually not even go if it was for someone I work with.  Best to keep work showers during or immediately following working hours.

If it's a work shower, could you do it right after work on a work day (like Friday?) That's when people usually do showers at my job. Having said that, if not every one (woman) who you work with is invited to it, it might be better to do it at a different location than your job and in that case, a non-work day might be easier.

Thanks so much! I am pretty sure every one from the firm is invited so I think Friday would be a great day. Thanks for your input! Anyone else?

I basically said that a work shower should really be held during or immediately following the work day.  I would be really uninterested in spending a weekend day hanging out with my work colleagues to honor the fiance of someone I work with.  I'm not saying that to mean - I'm just being honest.  I'm not even sure I'd want to spend a Saturday honoring someone I work with unless I was very close friends with them.

In summary, have the shower immediately following the work day on a Friday.
