Bridal Shower Host?

I'm four months away from my wedding and haven't had my bridal shower. Is someone supposed to volunteer to host it or am I supposed to ask someone to host it?

Anyone may volunteer to host a shower. The bride should not ask anyone to do it.

Don't ask anyone to host. Showers are absolutely not required, so if no one volunteers to host one, you just don't have it.

You can host a bridal luncheon if you want but you can't ask someone to host a shower for you.  You don't want anyone to feel obligated.  But if no one has said anything about a shower to you 4 months out, it might be a surprise.  Try fishing around for info.
