probably been asked before but...shower invite question OT guests

hi ladies, my moh/sister is throwing me a shower and is asking for a guest list and i was wondering what the ettiqute is with out of town guests? I have close friends all over the country that are invited to the wedding and i would want to invite to a shower but don't want to appear gift grabby or anything. or them to get the invite and wonder why i sent it since i know they won't come because they will be travelling for the wedding? thoughts??

  • I wouldn't invite out of towners unless there is a chance they'd come or their feelings would be hurt if they weren't sent an invitation.

    Incorrect.

You invite everyone that was invited to the wedding, whether or not they will attend is regardless as they may still want to purchase a gift and mail it to you.
