Guestbook Ideas needed (poll)

I’m hosting a large bridal shower in April this year. The activities we have planned are short, and sweet, due to the large amount of invitees (70 people). I would like to have some sort of “guestbook” in the form of advice/recipes/something shared from each attendee. My 2 ideas were: 1. Tips for Marriage Bliss (with marriage advice, of course)2. Recipes (note card sent with invite, asking for a family recipe) However, I’m afraid I’ll get a lot “don’t go to sleep angry” with option #1, and the bride-to-be has already rec’d 2 cookbooks (one from our aunt, who is compiling a book of the bride’s deceased mom’s recipes, and one from her to be MIL). Please vote on which you think is a better idea, or if you have another idea PLEASE PLEASE share! Thanks!!

  • TBH, I would skip the guest book for a shower. If you are determined to do it, though, ask the guests to share advice, tips or memories (their choice) on the cards that you enclose in the invitations. The aunt and FMIL already have the recipe books covered.

  • My mother and sister did the recipes thing for me. TBH only about 25% of people sent in the cards. It's not worth all of the trouble.

  • My sister loves collecting recipes so guests brought their favorites to share. Unless the bride is really into recipes I think you should just skip it.

Yes this. I should also mention I don't cook at all so recipes was a waste on me.

  • At my shower, MOH passed out note cards and had everyone write a memory they had of me. Then MOH read each aloud and I had to guess who wrote it. I later put them all in a photo album. While it may be too many to read aloud, you could just have the guests sign them and she can read them later.
