Getting Married in 5 DAYS!

I'm getting married this coming Sunday, and I am finally starting to feel the anxiety.  Those of you who have already done your trip down the aisle...do you have any tips to relax and de-stress these last few days?  I want to enjoy our wedding weekend, while still taking care of all the last minute things that pop up.

Currently all I am feeling is this:

Re: Getting Married in 5 DAYS!

  • Take some time and get a mani/pedi, massage, etc.  Some time just for you, either alone or with some girlfriends.

Get 3 boxes and label them ceremony, reception and RD.  Put everything in the corresponding boxes, shut the lid, and don't look in them again.  It's all in there and you don't have to worry about it.

Enjoy your RD, enjoy your family, thank them and your WP in case you don't get a chance on the wedding day.

Sit down and write a letter to your FI to give to him the morning of the wedding.

Enjoy it all.  On the day of, turn last minute things over to someone else so you can enjoy getting ready.  After the ceremony, spend 5 minutes with your DH alone before you go to the reception.  Don't worry about details or anything that goes wrong--none of it matters in the end.
  • Great advice, I will sure try and remember these suggestions when it gets closer for me.

  • Yes.  I have a little over 2 weeks and I am still freakin' out.  I feel like my to do lists are never ending but I have trying really hard to have everything done 2 days before so I can relax and just enjoy the weekend.
  • I think it's important to realize that not everything on your to-do list might get done. My mom and MOH had to stop me at the craft store a week before and say "No more projects!". They helped me finish what was already started--and even that was a chore.

Just remember to relax! Have fun, don't stress. Things will happen as they happen.

TIP: If you don't have a wedding coordinator make sure somebody in your group has all of the vendor phone numbers in case of an emergency and has their phone with them.

Also, it was very important for me and my groom to leave the rehearsal dinner by 10 p.m., so that we could get plenty of rest the night before. A good thing since after seeing pictures of the rehearsal dinner I realized how VERY tired we looked! Also, I wish I had taken something to help me sleep that night too, because I woke up really early with butterflies in my tummy.
