Shower Review: Best Shower Ever!!!
So, my Aunt and my BMs threw my shower this past weekend, and even if it hadn't been mine I thought it was the best shower I've ever been to, so I thought I'd post a review on here since I see a lot of MOHs and BMs looking for ideas 
I knew nothing about the shower going in, other than where or when it was going to be (at my Mom's house, this past Saturday). They ended up doing a travel theme since FI and I are going on a Mediterranean Cruise for our Honeymoon. The house was decorated with balloons and wedding stuff, and also little plastic flags everywhere
I think a big part of the success was that there was a TON of food and it was all different kinds, as well as a really large selection of drinks. They had spiked lemonade and sangria as well as sodas and juices. They had food from all the countries we'll be visiting on our cruise - spanikota, hummus, meatballs, bruschetta - and also fruit kabobs. they also had not only a chocolate fountain but a RANCH fountain with a bunch of veggies and popcorn chicken by it for dipping. the ranch fountain completely made my day, and no one else had ever seen anything like it before either. I'm obsessed with ranch so it was very me =D
I told them I'm not that into games, and i didn't want to do anything stupid... they freaked me out a little bit by telling me to bring all these weird things before the shower (a pair of FI's shorts, a change of clothes that i didn't mind getting messy in, and a pair of mismatched flip flops). we didn't use any of the weird stuff they told me to bring, but we did end up playing a few games
the first one, they had asked FI a bunch of questions and then written down the questions and answers onto index cards. they handed the cards out to the guests (each index card had a diff question/answer on it) who took turns asking me the questions, and i had to answer with what i thought FI answered. it was a LOT of fun. Esp when i got an answer wrong... or would get mad because he got an answer wrong - like when i found out he doesn't know where we had our first kiss! For every answer i got correct the person who asked the question would write down a marriage wish for us; every wrong answer got me written marriage advice =D one of my BMs collected them and they put them into two glass bottles for me and FI to read later (our own "messages in a bottle" we had a blast with it, although i think that there were maaaaybe too many questions (close to forty). the only change i would've made would've been not to do more than 20 questions.
they also made these really pretty bingo sheets that said "BRIDE" instead of Bingo across the top, for when i was opening gifts. They handed them out before i started opening presents and everyone filled the boxes in with things they thought i might have gotten, and used the gifts instead of numbers. It was incredibly fun (esp when one of my mom's friends only needed me to open a Thong for her to get "bride" and kept yelling out "is it a thong? is it a thong?" everytime i opened a gift). and i was glad that the guests had something to do other than stare at me as i opened presents plus it made THEM just as excited as i was about opening the gifts, since they were all crossing off boxes!
the prizes were little boxes of desserts from the countries that we're visiting. and the favors were luggage tags in the shape of cruise ships
all in all it was an incredible time. lots of food, lots of good company, fun games, and we just all had a blast!
