How early before the ceremony are you supposed to have your wedding/bridal shower?

    I think the time frame can be further from the wedding, especially depending on the bride's schedule.  I am in graduate school and 6 weeks out from the wedding is not a good time.  8-10 weeks when I am on a break is a better time.
