Hello my MOH and I were thinking of themes for the shower.  My FMIL is also throwing a shower where it's kitchen themed...we having an apron contest, door prize for people bringing a reciepe, and other games centered on that. 

She had mentioned where people wear bridesmaids dresses but I'm not sure how many girls would actually wear a previos bridesmaids dress.

Have any ideas?

and yes, I have googled, but I thought I would also come here and get some other nifty ideas :0)

I would definitely nix the idea of having people wear old BM dresses. Not only would that be extremely awkward, but a lot of people would not be overjoyed to participate, never mind the fact that a lot of people have never even been a BM or haven't been in years.

As for themes, my bridal shower was a Mad Hatter Tea Party which was really neat. There was a topsy turvy cake, a mimosa fountain, different flavors of tea on all the tables, and all the guests were able to take home a tea cup and saucer. Pics in my planning bio under the pre-wedding parties tab.

I've been to English Tea showers where little sandwiches are served along with tea and scones and a Travel shower that centered around the bride and groom's honeymoon destination. You could also do a luau... the options are endless!
