Engagement party thank you questions

i was wondering how quickly thank yous should be sent out. Also, any help on wording would be appreciated. TIA!

    Within 2 weeks is standard I think.

    It should be written like any other thank you:

    Dear so and so,

    It was wonderful to see you at the engagement party. Thank you so much for the bottle of wine. We can't wait to enjoy it! Hope to see you soon.

    Or something like that...
