So, my FMIL wants to throw us an engagement party. She is hoping to have it midway between our homes (about 100 miles each way!) While I think this is great and all, she called tonite to ask which 22 girls I wanted to invite. She assumed that an engagement party is only women (I was like, uh, no, its everyone invited to the wedding, men and women!), and to cut our already small guest list from 80 to 22 would be hard. She left it for me to decide which 11 couples I want to attend. I have no idea how to pick between friends and family now.
The only engagement party I ever attended was my sister's, which was all the invited wedding guests plus a few more neighbors of my parents!
