How early is your shower

My MOH is coming in from FL and I told her I'd pay for her ticket to come out for the shower/ bach (we're combining them in the same weekend so she can go to both).  Is 8 weeks too early?  I'm running into some hefty plane ticket prices the closer to my wedding.

Thanks.

Re: How early is your shower

  • 8 weeks is about normal for a bridal shower.  But in reality you shouldn't be throwing/ planning your own shower/ b party.

  • My MOH's are throwing me a bridal shower about 10 weeks before because that is a holiday weekend and allows for some extra travel time. I did have one already but it was a work one when all of our staff was together in January. I think 10 weeks is pretty average.
  • That doesn't sound too early. I think my shower was about 6 weeks before the wedding, and then two weeks later I attended a shower for my friend who was getting married 2 months after me. So sometimes they are a few months before the wedding.

It all depends on what the hostess(es) can do and what works with their schedule and the bride's. HTH!
  • Mine was a little more than 8 weeks ahead of our date.  It was the day that worked best for my MOH, my mom and MIL, and for me.  I think  6-8 weeks is the typical window, but have also gone to showers that are closer to 10-12 weeks out.  I don't think 8 weeks is too early, especially if it works for the hosts and for you.

  • Mine was at about 9 weeks? Jan 14th due to my work schedule and what not, if I Had known they would forbid me to return to work as of the 17th it would have been end of January. My bachelorette is two days before so that my out of state party and friends can be here.

  • My shower was 12 weeks before our wedding (January 21st).  I think whatever feels right to you is perfect!

  • I think it just depends on your schedule and what works best.

For example: my wedding is in December but my shower will probably be in late July/early August. I'm student teaching in the Fall and simply won't have time/sanity.
