Bridal Shower Question?

I am from a Big Italian family...

SO IF you have exprience with how Italians do things, that would be better.

I have not been to a bridal shower since I was like 14, because I moved out of town.

Now it is time for my shower(next month), and I had a question.

Do I need to read the cards out loud. I know that I need to say who the gift was from, but I am not sure if it is appropriate to read the card. A friend of mine recently got married, and her family asked her to read the cards, but 60%of them were dupilcates, and she said she felt ridiculous reading the same card over and over!

Thanks Ladies!

I'm not Italian, but I didn't ready any of the cards out loud.  I said who the gift was from, read the card quietly and thanked the person for their message.

My maternal grandparents immigrated from Florence, so I grew up around Italian culture. Bridal showers actually aren't terribly common in Italy, so there aren't really Italian shower traditions.

However, at any showers I've been to for Italians/Italian-Americans, the cards were not read aloud.

Italian Spanish photographer here! don't read them out loud don't do anything that spoils your day! anything that makes you feel unconfortable, just read the names and say thanks you, that is polite, too. I have a bridal to shoot on Sat in Miami Florida, very excited already!
