Favors for Engagement Party?

My parents are throwing it for us... should there be favors at the party? I'm thinking yes, but I wanted to see what you all thought.

    No.  You don't need favors at all.

    They're not necessary but my mom and I made chocolate covered pretzels for mine. It was more because we were bored one day and thought it would be a fun project. Totally not required though.

    My parents threw us an engagement party a few weeks ago.  My mom made little chocolates...wedding themed, a white chocolate diamond on a dark chocolate ring, white wedding bells and milk chocolate wedding bells.  She put them in little engagement themed treat bags with some Hershey's kisses hugs and kisses.  They were fantastic, inexpensive and such a big hit!!

    I think favors for all events (bridal shower, baby shower, etc) are thoughtful. I would personally go with edible favors, maybe mini hershey bars, customized wrappers, you can find the wrappers online

    No, favors are not necessary, but they're a nice touch. If it's not in the budget I definitely wouldn't worry about them.

    At our engagement party, the favors were our STD magnets, personalized matchbooks with our wedding date on them, and a small scented votive candle to go with the matches.
