Confetti cannon rental?

Okay, I know it's silly, but we're going over the top on one or two things. After all, it's our wedding day! We are planning to shoot confetti cannons upon entering the ballroom for the reception. You know, "Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome for the first time ever, Mr. and Mrs. Gates!" *BOOOOM* CONFETTI!!!!

That being said, does anyone know where we'd be able to rent one? I can't seem to find anything on google.

Really hard. But I wanna do that because I want you

Re: Confetti cannon rental?

  • I would check with your venue to a) make sure it's okay (which I'm sure you did, I'm just saying) and b) see who they recommend.

  • I would think a party rental place would be able to suggest where to find one.

  • Do you have a DJ?  Lots of them have these as well.  Ditto, Amanda:  many venues have restrictions on this and, if they do allow it, they may ask that it be a certain size (like the Worthington says no glitter).
  • I agree with PP's--while working in Banquets at a Marriott, we banned glitter, confetti, silly string, and any other decorative item that was smaller than 1 in. squared.  Glitter, et.al,  find their way into grooves that are difficult for even commercial grade vacuums to pick up, and with re-usable space it is definitely a question worth asking. Along those lines, many Churches and venues have also banned throwing rice because of the danger it poses to birds.
Fun idea though! What about running in through bubble machines to create a similar illusion? Maybe your DJ could find a clip of a cannon going off and play it at that moment?
  • Yes - we DEFINITELY asked our venue coordinator. She said the same thing - glitter no. Tiny confetti? No. Big-@$$ confetti? Yes. Basically as long as it can be picked up with a standard vacuum, we're in the clear. And juliebug - thanks! I'll see what our DJ can do!
