Outdoor venue help

We just got engaged, 1 month ago today to be exact :), and we're having the hardest time finding an outdoor venue for both ceremony and reception. We would love to at least have the ceremony outside and would be okay with an indoor reception. We're trying to stay in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Does anyone know of any great, affordable venues that we can look into?

Thanks! :)

We are using Reflections on Spring Creek in Plano.  "Affordable" means something different to everyone, so I'm not sure what you're actual price point is.  They charge $1295 to rent the facility and for our Friday evening wedding there is a $3500 food/beverage minimum.  The total with taxes and gratuities is $7100 (that's something I wish I had known up front is that most everyone charges a 20% gratuity that is not included in the advertised amount....so just a head's up).

The Dallas Arboretum is also another great choice but is more expensive.  There's also Ashton Gardens (I think they have an outdoor ceremony space and indoor reception area but someone correct me if I'm wrong) as well as A&M Gardens in Azle.

Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake is a great option as well.  Keep in mind though that it is entirely DIY and that you may/may not end up spending more at an all DIY venue than you would at a venue that is more inclusive.  Winfrey Point also is usually booked a year out.

    Welcome and congrats!

All of Angelsong's suggestions are great.  May I ask when you are planning on getting married?  Outdoor-only wedding celebrations are so risky in Texas because a) it's hot, b) the weather is unpredictable and c) it's hot.  I would strongly encourage you to at least have a backup plan for if the weather is not good.  I was recently in a wedding where we all got rained on because there was no plan for moving the ceremony indoors.

That said, aeliza is getting married on the rooftop of El Fenix downtown, and I think they're having their reception up there as well.  It sounds like it's going to be beautiful.

We got married at the wildwood inn in Denton. We had the ceremony outdoors and the reception inside. We also had the dancing outside. I loved it and thought it was affordable but it depends on your idea of affordable!

I got married October at La Buena Vida winery in Grapevine. Both our ceremony and reception were outside, at the same venue. LOVED MY VENUE. In the Grapevine area you could also try Cross Timbers Winery or Paradie Cove in Southlake based on the look/feel you want. Happy hunting!!

809 at Vickery in Ft Worth has an outdoor courtyard. Also check out The Parsons Table in Aledo(not sure on size of party). There is also a new place in Azle I have heard good things about http://www.theorchardtx.com/ .....

Yup, we are having ours on the rooftop. Outside- yes. Rustic/outdoorsy- no.

The Heard Museum in McKinney could work too- depending on the size of your guestlist (less tahn 100 would be okay- more- too cramped).

I second Winfrey Point or the Filter Building. Dallas Heritage Village has a lot of affordable options too and you have the ability to bring in your own alcohol/caterer.

Not sure on affordability- but I saw a wedding on a photographer's blog at Howell Farms and it was lovely.

ETA: For the Filter Building, have ceremony outside and reception inside.
