Winfrey Point - how to hang decorations

has anyone been to or had a WP wedding? you're not allowed to use thumbtacks or anything and i'm trying to figure out how to hang our decorations.

we've made banners like the ones at this link (different colors, but same idea) and i can't figure out how to hang them up!

WP says you can hang from the fixtures, but i don't think that will work since we want these lower and on the actual walls. any thoughts?

    I am having the same concerns with some venues we will be looking at. Seems like a LOT of places do not allow hanging on the walls, which I kind of understand. I was hoping that tape or sticky putty would be allowed, but even that has the capability of causing damage. The only thing I could think of is hanging them from something free standing like really tall sheperd's hooks or something, and then putting them against the wall....

    Are you having an outdoor or indoor wedding at WP?

    BTW, that banner is very cute!

    hi amber. thanks! :)

    we're having the ceremony outside, looking across the lake, and then moving indoors for the reception. assuming the weather is clear, we'll be able to have people out on the porch and stuff, so it won't be TOTALLY inside for the reception.

    i guess tape would work. i worry about it looking tacky (no pun intended) or just not holding well, especially if it's hot or humid that day. i looked at those stick on hooks that you can pull off with no damage, but you're supposed to let them set for an HOUR before you hang stuff. i don't know if something this light would be a big deal, but i don't think our coordinator can spend that much time just waiting for them to stick!

    Nah, those things don't really need an hour for light stuff. I did one that holds my robe and PJs in my closet and I used it immediately. It's been there for over a month. :) It's good that they let you use that... hey, who do I email to get info about winfrey point? I emailed the info@whiterocklake address, but not sure if there is another one that would be better.

    Definitely check out the command hooks - those things are amazing.  And maybe you could have your coordinator hang all the hooks, move on to setting something else up, and then come back and do the banners a little bit later?  Those are really fun!

    @ambermarie:
    best thing to do is just call WP directly. 214-670-8740. most of the basic info is on the dallas parks website.

    @angieandjames:
    that would work, especially if they really don't take that long.

    Do you have a coordinator?  If so, they should be able to tell you how to do it.  If not, I would call your contact at Winfrey Point and see how others have hung stuff.

    Sorry I wish I could be more help but we didn't hang anything.  I kept my decorations pretty simple
