What you are most scared of in the planning process? Becoming a Bridezilla. I don't have much to worry about, I will have everything booked more than a year prior to my wedding date. It's just a matter of paying things off, and relaxing.

What you are most scared of in the planning process? I am scared that my wedding will look cheap. The land is beautiful but I don't want my guest to think I took the cheap route when we are spending just as much.
And a question for us.  How did you deal with all the extra opinions family members have? Specifically parents. It seems as alot of stuff I want, my parents don't think its needed or cost to much. They are paying for half of the wedding but still. I guess I shouldn't compain.

What you are most scared of in the planning process?  Not sure if this applies to the planning process, but the thing I am most scared of is this abundance of boobage peaking out of my dress.  I want to dance! 

And a question for us.  Transportation is one thing we have gone back & forth on because we aren't sure if we should just use FI's car, or book a limo or some other car.  We are just worried that it's kind of an unnecessary expense, but it would be nice to have.  For those that used their own vehicles instead of renting, any regrets?

Reg. the alcohol - I attended a wedding last year with no alcohol and everyone had a great time.  It really wasn't that big of a deal.   A lot of the BM's and Groomsmen brought flasks and discreetly had a good time, LOL.   Just make sure you spread the word in advance.

What you are most scared of in the planning process? As we are getting close I am worried that I will not get all the last minute touches that I feel will make it feel complete done or be able to afford them.

I am also curious on the transportation question as I keep going back and forth on this one over and over.  I dont know if it will feel very anti-climatic to get in FI charger or if it will even matter.

TJohn20 – to find a venue you first need to ask yourself what’s important to you, if it’s being married in a church, research churches, if you want it inside..outside, traditional, not traditional…the stickie on the top of the Dallas forum is a GREAT place to start, as a lot of the girls here can give you their opinions on them J ETA: I see steph already said that :P My bad!  

Nikki1080—the checklist on the knot is GREAT! Yeah, it doesn’t really have everything you need per say…but you can add and subtract as needed. I use it just to help me remind myself of little things. 

Meghan- I joined the knot, because a really good family friend bought me a magazine when I first got engaged, and I jumped on here just to see what it was about J 

Krwinningham/bobbieleigh- Transportation, we’re just going to be using my fathers’ car, he has a black on black Corvette, it’s really pretty, won’t cost a dime, and although it’s not a limo, to US it really isn’t that big of a deal to not have. My brother's friend rented a limo, said it was really nice, but he really wishes he hadnt spent all that money when he only rode in it for maybe 45 minutes. Do either of your familys have someone with a nice-ish car? That just is something different from what you drive everyday to make it feel special?

Bobbileigh - Totally not anti- climatic to get into a charger!!   Seriously.   Its going to be a classic car some day and your wedding photos will be a fond memory for you and your FI long after the car is gone.

..but then again I believe American muscle cars are way cooler than limos.  That's just how I am.

What you are most scared of in the planning process? Forgetting something important and making sure people had fun. A lot of our guests came from from WI, where we both use to live, and weddings up there are just huge parties with everyone getting wasted and thats not how we choose our day to be so I was afraid they would all be bored but we worked it all out by having an after party at a bar in the Stockyards.

Well its a new charger not old classic BUT he has put insane amounts of time and money (in my opinion) into mods for his car its like the wedding for me lol so it might be nice for him to have those pictures of it forever.  Good point Tiffany, I think we will chat more tonight and as long as he doesnt mind driving then that is what we shall do and save alot of money.

We had a 2010 Camaro SS (was a free rental, not ours) and it's going to be so cool to look back on like 20 years from now, I just know it.  

I think the Charger will be the same, except more sentimental, especially since it means so much to your FI.

Hooray!  Y'all finally came out. 

Regarding alcohol - DH was also against this idea.  It was more of a money issue for him.  I finally got him to agree to red and white wine and one choice of beer.   I used the drink calculator at evite to calculate how much we would need.  We had around 100 guests.  It was fairly accurate.  I think we spent around $300 on alcohol.  My big negotiating point was that we could take back what we didn't use and get our money back.  HTH.

What was I most worried about during planning?:  I was very worried that I wouldn't get everything done.  I took about a month off of all WR stuff about 2 months before the wedding because step-dad was really sick and died and didn't feel like doing anything so 2 weeks before the wedding I still had a pretty big to-do list that I wanted/needed to finish and luckily enough my mom wanted to stay busy too with all that happened so we both just jumped in and got it done.  I was finishing programs and last minute DIY the day before the wedding.  Everything went off perfect!

I am looking for a venue anywhere in the DFW area. Not to particular about location just want a venue where total cost isn't over $5,000.00. (incl. food for 200 guest)

Unfortunately the venues I like seem to be over that price  I liked Lofty Spaces and Hickory Street Annex just not sure with decorations and food I can stay within that budget.

Kat, ohhhh, now I completely understand how it would be overwhelming. I felt a bit overwhelmed with the choices, and I had a five-mile radius of our church in FW to stay within! The most budget-friendly venues I like are art galleries, community centers, and restaurants. My best research tools for venues ended up being photographer's blogs and this forum.

What you are most scared of in the planning process?  Really worried about the flow of the space as we're getting married here, and having the reception here.  I need to quit watching My Fair Wedding as David keeps saying that's a big no-no, but we couldn't find any other space we liked in the Grapevine/Southlake area where we could have both the ceremony and reception outside. 

And a question for us.  We had decided we weren't going to hire a videographer, any thoughts, suggestions or regrets on not doing this?
