I know there's some good news out there...

I will say one sad thing about winechic getting married: she is the last bride for two weeks.  I must say I've loved seeing details of weddings every week.

Also, for the first time in a long time, I have nothing to grade.  It is glorious (and will change tomorrow -- why did I schedule a deadline AND a test the day before my shower/b-party?!)

Oh, and my shower and bachelorette party are this weekend.  Yay.  Even my sister (who works at the Arkansas equivalent of TAMS and gets one weekend off a month) gets to come!

    We finally chose an officiant (Ken Savage at Love Notes) and are sending off his contract and a signed contract/deposit for our caterer today. Hooray!

    I'm going to look at wedding dresses this afternoon! 

    And we've been engaged 5 months as of today... where the heck is the time going?!

    Meeee too.  I did all of my dress shopping in one day.  Now I wish I had spread it out and taken my time.  And I need to stop watching SYTTD...LOVE that show.

    FI & I met with Peary Photography this morning here in Austin. They were pretty awesome people and I can't wait for them to do our engagement photos in February 2012. The extra bonus with them, their youngest daughter lives in DFW area so they'll be doing our wedding too AND won't be charging us for travel! Whoohoo!

    I'm surprised there aren't any weddings next weekend? That means at least I won't miss any while we're on our honeymoon since we'll be gone until the end of the month. Besides the fact then wedding is this weekend, my big AWs are the fact everything is done, taken to the venue, paid for and now I can pamper myself, relax and enjoy these next few days!! And WOOHOO for this gorgeous weather. Now off to tan, get a manicure and watch some RANGERS!!!

    I'm in Costa Rica!! Thank God for my iPhone and our international data plan to keep me busy while we wait for a new tire to be put on our rental. It's rained all day and we got a flat tire our first day out, but it's so beautiful I don't care!!

    I was so worried about this too but ProfessorScience is right -- you'll likely find WAY more options that you thought possible.  Alfred Angelo, DB, and Circle Park Bridal all had dresses in my lower-end price range that I liked.  GL!

    Professor Science & Angelsong- I had already looked at David's Bridal, Bridal Co., Group USA, and a couple of smaller independent stores. I'm on a very very tight budget and have a pretty firm idea of what I was looking for... vintage-looking, possibly lace. 

    So I went this afternoon and looked at A Bridal Blossom (because it's right next to Junkadoodle) and I tried on about a dozen dresses... a couple of them were nice, but just not what I was looking for. Then the super helpful sales girl pulled a dress she thought would look good on me- ivory silk with ruching from under the bust to just below the natural waistline, and straps... so pretty much nothing like what I had pictured in my mind. But I put it on and it was absolutely perfect! We put in a lace panel (because of the deep V in the front) and it was exactly what I was looking for.

    So I DID find my dress today!!! I am even having a custom veil made edged with the same lace as we are using for the panel, which I never thought I could afford. I didn't want to take it off, but I had to come home and do hw :) Sadly I don't have any pictures, because my camera phone is horribly fuzzy, but I'm so glad I found one, and way under my budget!
