Vogue Cleaners on Northwest Highway near the park cities. Saw a sign, took it in. The cost was about $140. I was a little wary because I have known one person whose dressed was damaged by a cleaners and another whose (very expensive) dress was completely lost. I asked the dude there about what guarantees they have, etc. and he didn't give me much, just assured me it would be fine.
I brought it in at the beginning of July and was promised it by the end of August. Still hadn't received a call mid-August so I called them--told me it would be done August 20th. I called today to make sure I could pick it up, and he told me the dress had been accidentally preserved, but they wouldn't charge me for the preservation. I told him I planned to sell the dress and didn't need it preserved and was worried about it being wrinkled, so he said come look it at.
We had to pull the dress out of the box and the skirt was all wrinkled, so he said he would send it back to have it pressed again and I could get it Monday. A few of the stains on the underside of the train didn't come out (I don't know what drycleaning limits are, so maybe that is understandable) but I did notice a lot of loose threads on the embroidery. It isn't that bad and I probably just need to trim them, but I don't think it was treated gently.
On the way home, I realized I didn't see the custom made sleeves Becky made for me--they were attached to the dress when I dropped them off. I called back, and he basically accused me of not telling him I had separate parts because they need to be bagged and sent out separately. I told him I had definitely pointed them out (I took the initiative to take the dress out of the bag and point out the embroidery, sleeves, etc when I dropped it off) and the sleeves were securely attached. There was no way they could have just fallen off. He later called me back and told me he had found them, but I don't like that he immediately placed the blame on me.
Bottom line...I'm not sure of the quality, they aren't the cheapest, and I wouldn't trust them again with a $1000 clothing item!
