I got a manicure on Saturday (thanks, little brother!) and it started chipping two days later.  There have been some manicures that last longer than others but I definitely don't do the French manicure anymore.  That one seems to chip the quickest.  However, the Day Spa Nails on Hall Johnson in Colleyville/Grapevine seem to have the longest lasting manicures for me.  I think they use a different top coat than the others do.  You could also try buying your own top coat and adding a layer once you get home.  Couldn't hurt!
    Posted by juliebug1997
Thanks Julie.  I think you are so right about the french manicure being the worst.  It's just so pretty.  Haha.  Call me crazy, but I did put on my own top coat as soon as I got home.  Obsessive, much?  Yep.  :)

Was I overreacting with my skin cancer post?  Haha.  Sorry.  I just quickly scanned an article about cons and pros.  Yeah, I'm sure 60 seconds twice a month wouldn't be all that bad.  Do you like the gel manicure?  Was it very expensive?

Ashlee- Yea I like when my abs are sore, so I know I at least worked them!  I had pretty strong abs before I started, so it takes a lot to work them.  But the ARX definitely does that!

Lacey - Well I bite off my natural nails...it's a horrible habit.   My nail lady gave them to me for free (normally $5 more) before the wedding and I like them a lot.  It seems like they look nicer for a longer period of time.  I haven't gotten nails of any kind since then though.

Okay, so i'm probably going to get diverse reactions on this. But i'm never had a manicure, or pedicure. So I have no idea what you ladies are talking about.

Sarah- I know what you mean! I by no means had a six pack before hand, but by the time i got to where i would feel regular sit ups in my abs, my back would hurt from the floor first! lol. I like this much better :)

I had my first pedicure two years ago for my birthday.  I also had a manicure....I have only had manicures done like 3 times in my life.  I personally just don't find it to be worth the money (we are on a tight budget anyways).  I just keep them looking nice on my own! :-)

Yeah, i've never had a reason to go. Nor have I ever had the motivation to spend that much money on having my nails done. but then again, i'm not your typical girl. So meh..

I do my own mani and pedi with that Sally Hanson's French nail kit. I started during rush becuase I refused to shell out any more money. I love it! I did it for my e-pics and I'm planning on doing it again for our second e-pic session this Sunday. Total cost $5. For me it lasts a  week and I am totally a nail biter too!

I'm really late to the conversation because I was in class, and I don't know who mentioned getting bang for your buck in McKinney. But, I used to live in McKinney.

It's a very nice area, but the problem is it's not a very central location as far as the metroplex goes. It's pretty far away from...everything. We have a couple of friends who live out there and we never see them, because they don't ever want to drive anywhere since it's so far away from everything. Kinda sucks. We miss them. Hahaha.

    Anyway, just my 2 cents.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.   Allen isn't really any better either.  I can't tell you how many people have told me we need to move up there.

I'd rather pay more for the same house and actually get to spend time in it, instead of sitting still on Central every morning/evening.

    Thanks, but no thanks. :)

I've done this before, too.  Do you use the little white sticker strips?  I always run out of them.  I also bought a pen not too long ago to do french tips.  My left hand turned out great, my right hand, not so much.  Apparently I'm not good at doing that with my left hand.  (I'm right handed).

I'm with you on this one. It's pretty uncentral. And our friends refuse to drive this direction because it's so far. After 8 months of us driving out there...we've almost completely stopped seeing each other. It's so inconvenient and expensive to drive all the way out there. Plus it's hella away from both our families.

Good point to all of you - McKinney is kinda far, but you do get the "bang for your buck".

I think that if you're looking for truly central to Dallas and Fort Worth and looking for a good deal on a home - then HEB is where you should look... more the EB than H, but still.

Unfortunately... homes in the truly "central" area are going to be more expensive, just because of convenience.

I see it as a ... you get the "bang for your buck" in a different way.  I value convenience highly...so its worth the money to me.   That's why we are still going for Carrollton.

Apparently everyone else values it too...since every house on my list is under contract.  Every.single.one.

I thought McKinney was a little to far. Luckily, our budget works perfectly in Grapevine. I don't want to go to far out to the HEB area because of the traffic. I would be fine with Keller, but then you don't have as much to do there.

I'm late to the party but:

Words with Friends - I have the Andriod version, Wordfeud, and am also addicted.

I got to work today and realized I didn't have my laptop. Luckily work is 2 mins from home so I fixed that quick.

I'm SO SICK of anything superbowl related I'm waiting til I snap at one of the party contacts for all their repeat questions that I've answered twenty seven times over already. Read. Your. Contracts.

Cake Guys finally got me taken care of. Chad thought we were 2/22/11 but they found us filed in 2012 :D Deposit is done and we are getting samples on Valentines to be our dessert with our pizza and movie. We are classy folks.

Thanks ladies that makes sense now.

Tiffany, you are getting my hopes down quite a bit on the house hunting.  We are for sure waiting until after the wedding and for Matt to finish his last semester of school but then we begin looking and my heart is set on Carrollton. :(

Hm ok. Nevermind. I was going to suggest the Haslet area. You can get A LOT of bang for your buck out there, and it wouldn't be too bad of a commute for you. It's just kind of...in the boonies. But, it's really growing.

ETA: The reason I say nevermind is because it's not near tollways.

I really want to tell this lady at work that I think she would look a lot better with less makeup and less frosted hair.

She wears heavy heavy lip liner that doesn't match her lipstick, heavy eyeliner and bronzer. I am pretty sure she would look a lot better if she went a little bit more natural.

Natalie - I used to live there, sort of!! Technically it was in Fort Worth, but it was right off of business 287 and Main (I think its Main?  It turned into Saginaw if you went like 10-12 miles South)

I liked it, but we are moving East because DH's family is in Garland and mine is WAY north in Texoma.    Otherwise, we would stay in Bedford.
