Hi all!  i am newly engaged and just gettihg plugged into the knottie community...lol i think i am going to like being a knottie bride....
I just got engaged about a week ago and am SO excited to start this next chapter and all the planning that goes into it!!! 
I ALSO so excited to have a group of ladies to bounce ideas off of....i currently live in the Dallas area near my fiance(still weird saying that)and his family but i will be having my wedding in the Austin area because my family is from the Houston area... we are just gonna kinda meet in the middle.....
I have so much to plan...heck my wedding date is not even set in stone...its more of an idea now.....but i am thinking a rustic outdoor ceremony with a reception in a beautiful barn with exposed celings.......colors maybe yellow grey and a bit of pink......

who knows but NICE TO MEET you all!!!!!

and of course any ideas would and will always be helpful and appreciated!!!

    Congratulations.  I love yellow and gray for wedding colors.  So pretty!  You might also try hitting up the Austin board, they will be more helpful with advice regarding vendors.

    Welcome!  I saw a really pretty yellow and gray wedding... I love that color combo.  Let me see if I can find it...

    Welcome and congrats!

    My BF (and one of my BMs) is getting married in Austin in the Fall - she is using The Salt Lick and it seems to have a really pretty rustic feel (outdoor ceremony, indoor "barn"-like reception)

    The blog of that wedding was pretty! I love the setting. The bride looks so familiar! I recognized the earrings she and one of her attendants (I think MOH) was wearing... :)

    it has been a rollercoaster week!! i got engaged one week ago...and two days ago i lost my job....~DEEP SOB~Cry

    BUT.....it will be all ok....i am a mad woman job hunting and i have a SUPER supportive and amazing DF...lol i am slowly getting the lingo down...

    I was working at a Loan company...but not particular to stay in that field.....office job mainly...banks, CSR, office manager....that type of things

    Welcome! I quit my job to move here to be with my DH when we got engaged (we were long-distance because of our careers in different states while dating) ... I know about the rollercoaster feeling!

    In case you want a job ASAP and are thinking of contacting a temp company, I had a really good experience with AppleOne. Other staffing companies wouldn't even let me come in or interview me, but that place found me a job (general office work/secretarial) in two weeks. (Full disclosure -- I ended up getting offered a job in my field at the same time so I didn't take the job they found for me, but I was still pretty impressed with them.)

    Congratulations!  My DH was laid off the day before he tried to propose to me in Austin and my BIL lost our dog that weekend too.  It was a rough weekend but it all worked out.  I'm sure you will be fine too! :)  Too bad you aren't in the Fort Worth area.  I work at the Court of Appeals and we just had one of the legal secretaries quit. 

    Anyway, good luck with the planning process.  My photographer is based in Austin if you don't already have someone in mind, check him out.  Jeff Loftin Photography.

    Hopefully, you can see some of her touches in yellow and gray.  She really had a beautiful wedding!

    Infamous also did grey and yellow but I don't know how to find her pics.  Stephie can probably help with that because she is awesome like that!

    Hi!

    I was going to get married in Austin because that's where I'm from. I really loved Green Pastures and The Austin Club. They're both VERY pretty and relatively inexpensive.
