B&M Monday

LOL I want some popcorn now too! I hate it when people burn popcorn at work, now that's a bad smell that doesn't go away for a long time!

My B&M: I am out of a job, again. My manager made me go back to work in my wheelchair or she basically threatened me with loosing my job. So I go back for 3 weeks and then another nurse in the department fell & broke her ankle so they had to give her my desk job. & Then because my manager made me go back to work, it reset my 90 waiting period for disability which I would be getting already if I had stayed at home! I'm hoping they will decide to give me disability anyways because she wasn't allowed to make me go back to work, but I have a feeling it's going to be a battle. I can't go another 3 months without a paycheck. Frown

    Do you work at UNT?

My B&M is that our slideshow we put together for our wedding is missing.  It was just pictures of us from when we were younger and then pictures of us together, but a friend of David's put it to music and added a lot of really nice graphic design elements to it.  We're 99% sure it's at my ILs house.  The ones we haven't spoken to since March.  One of my BILs is on the lookout for it since he still lives there, but we haven't heard anything back.  I'm going to be pissed if they threw it away.

Have y'all seen the new blue bell flavor?  Vanilla ice cream with caramel popcorn in it.  At first I wasn't a fan but the more I had of it...  it's pretty good.  FI loved it!

We have a popcorn maker/cart thing in our conference room that someone uses weekly...the popcorn is almost as good as the movies.  It might just be time to fire it up.  =)

    burnt popcorn=bad.

unburnt popcorn=awesomeness I can't describe.  I have to get popcorn every time we go to the movies.  I'm so glad so many of you Knotties love popcorn like me.  And I want to try that new Blue Bell flavor so bad but I keep resisting!

    Steph,
I hope your BIL can find your slideshow.

Yep.  7 colleges in our ceremony.  I figured Summer was better than Fall or Spring.

My mom bought my dad a popcorn cart for Father's Day. It's amazing. It calls to me from the corner of the room.

My BIL is graduating in the afternoon.  I think it's at 4:00 or 5:00.  I'm hoping it goes by quickly and that traffic doesn't suck.  :)

    Thanks, Julie.

I would guess it will be about 1.5-2 hours long and traffic shouldn't be as bad as Fall and Spring since Summer is usually treated like the red headed step child.

My B&M:  I hate my job.  There I said it!  I haven't been here 5-10 years like most of the other people, I didn't get any type of formal training, and they change the "rules" weekly.  I feel lost and like I'm not doing my job correctly and then an email goes out to 4-6 different team members that says "can everyone please review the following contract and inform Dana of what she did wrong."  Um I'm Dana and I would have at least had an oppurtunity to know that everyone in the dept was going to get to make me look bad.  There is a reason I did it the way I did it, I called the assessors office and they gave me the info.  If it is wrong then they have it wrong not me!!  All I did was data entry from them.  What did you want me to do?  According to my "training" if it comes from the assessor it is assumed correct.  If the procedure has changed don't you think I should get notified and maybe asked where I got my info before sending out an email asking others what I did wrong??

    Ok mini rant over!!!

    My B&M is LONG

Saturday, I enjoyed the Bridal show, but it was so overwhleming, and NONE of the vendors I wanted to talk to were there. Also, I cant remember a single vendor with the info I recieved. I know there was a bridal gown shop I liked, and a photog i liked... but who were they??? IDK LOL

THEN, after getting home from the show, our apartment A/C was out (Its been going out all the time since the 4th of July) THe last time it went out, the guy was like "Its a leak"  so why the frig wouldnt he fix the leak back then?  Okay, so now it leaks freon (who knows where its going!!?!??!) so much that it needs to be refilled every 8 hours.  I told the apartment complex that we will be staying in a hotel till its fixed.  They say they wont pay the hotel costs!!!!!!  According to the apartment complex, my options are this:
    1. Stay in the freon leaking apartment, and they will add freon every 6 to 8 hours till its repaired... UMMM, this seems hazerdous! so NO!
    2.  They offered a vacant apartment for us to stay in till its fixed.  I told the manager, GREAT, thanks. I'll take it, as long as you move my bed into that vacant apartment.  They just laughed and said no... So I'm supposed to sleep on the floor like an animal?!?!  Ummmm... NO!  I countered with the offer that THEY sleep in the vacant apartment, while I sleep in their bed at their apartment. They turned that down, LOL
    3. FInal option given by the apartment complex: They will put in window units until the a/c is fixed...  I'm on the first floor! In DALLAS. This is so unsafe, someone could just walk by and remove the unit, and have their way with my apartment, or ME :(  I told them no way!  If I wanted a window unit, then I would go get a cheaper apartment in Dallas, with a window unit

So here I am, living in a hotel, that they say they wont pay for... and i have to pay full moths rent, because they were taking care of the maintenance request in a timley matter.

OH! and I have a dog and cat, the dog is being boarded while this is going on, the cat is living with me in the hotel room.

So frustrating that the place I live would treat me so crappy :(

So, I might be completely wrong..but I'm pretty sure it is against the law to knowingly let freon leak into the air at that rate of speed.

It is very harmful to the environment, and I'm willing to bet the apartment complex can get fined by the EPA.

Maybe you should turn them in.  Hehe :)

FI has been trying to call the DAllas Housing Department all day about that.  Tiffany, I believe you are right.
I have just hired an attorney. I think she can use this... The world would be a better place without this apartment management company (the previous one wouldnt have treated me this way)

Beth - Sweet!   I'm glad your at least in the cool hotel for now, and I hope your attorney will be able to help you get the reimbursement your entitled.  It is WAY too hot out there to be without A/C.   Good Luck!

I had a co-worker that made popcorn EVERY single day. No joke. I wasn't a fan of popcorn to begin with but now I like it even less.
