Hello! And Bridals!

Hello Everyone!
I have been on TK for a while, but I am a teacher and don't get much down time, other than summer.  Now that my sleep schedule is completely messed up, I have been venturing to these boards and being a creeper just reading through them.  This little community is so cute and sweet!
Now, down to the nitty gritty.  I am having my bridals done on Wednesday.  I know the photographer is the genius and knows what he's doing, but I feel like I should go into it with some sort of idea of what kind of poses I want.  My dress has a lace back that is pretty much what made me fall in love with it but I want my face to show too.  I also look like a goob when I try "serious" or "seductive" looks, my smile is what I am comfortable with.  I am having them done at the museum where I am getting married so there is not a lot of things to lounge on and I don't just want to pose with a statue.  Any ideas???

Re: Hello! And Bridals!

  • First, your screenname amuses me, and I appreciate that. :)

Second, like you said, the photographer is the "genius" in this instance.  Most people have the same problem (myself included) and I can look completely awkward in front of a camera.  That's part of shelling out the cash for a quality photographer -- not only do they have great equipment, but they have the raw talent and know how to pose and coach their clients so it doesn't look forced and you get some incredible shots.  Your photographer should be helping you out with your facial expressions and body positioning.  Just let her know what you want to see in your pics and he/she should be able to guide you from there.

You might scroll down a little -- cwaggoner just posted her bridals last week and her dress had a really pretty back.  You could get some ideas from her sneak peeks.

ETA: I see that you've already seen her post!  I'm no help, then.
