$600 to spend on dress: Where to go?!

FI and I are paying for a majority of our wedding.  Therefore, we are working with a strict budget.  We have budgeted $600 for my wedding dress.  I am going shopping in a few weeks and want to start booking appointments and getting the day organized.  Any suggestions on where to go looking for a dress that will be within my budget?  I realize $600 isn't too much but I also know there are some beautiful dresses out there within that price range. I am the type of girl that wants to go look a few times and then buy!  I don't want to go to hundreds of stores!  I hate shopping.

TIA for any recommendations!

My sister got her dress from Bridal Co in Denton -it was $550, and SO pretty.  And, they're super nice there.  Good luck!  That is totally doable.

    Circle Park in Addison
    Langs in Arlington

There is a place in Mansfield that rents dresses. They are in the Target shopping plaza. they have some really nice Maggie and Sophia dresses.

I'm in the same boat. you can always try David's Bridal, but I'm going to Bridal Boutique in Lewisville and Circle Park Bridal. Also discovered that Terry Costa has a dress I want to try on, but I can order it cheaper at Bridal Co. in Denton, so find stuff you like online, then call around and don't be afraid to ask for samples that they are selling.

I wouldn't discount a place like Alfred Angelo either.  The first dress I tried on there was $500 (albeit a simple one).  Also, I could have purchased one of the samples I tried on for $400 (and might have if it had not been 4 sizes too big).  So if you like that style, it's worth a shot.

I had a lot of luck at Terry Costa where I purchased my dress during a trunk show with 20% off (total with tax and shipping was $625).

Other places I found to have good prices were Denton Bridal Co, and Lewisville Bridal.

I went to Bridal Designs in Southlake today and they had a lot of really great dresses there. I did see a bunch in the 1k range, but they do have samples in the back as well as some moderately priced dresses on their racks.

It's located off of 114 and Northwest Hwy, by the Michaels.

I found my dress at Lasting Bridal in Addison and then bought it through Pearl's Place. I saved almost half the price that Lasting Bridal and other places in the metroplex were selling the dress at.

Circle Park all the way -- they have beautiful dresses -- mostly under $700... even the ones that you have to order.

And Andrea and her staff are great!

I so wanted to shop at Circle Park Bridal, but I'm on the border between regular sizes and plus size, and they don't carry plus sizes (or at least they didn't when I went shopping in December). I ended up getting my dress as Alfred Angelo - they have a lot of different prices, and they often have sales (My dress was 300 or 400 off!).

Circle Park or Emma's Bridal Boutique...

Also, Anonymously Yours is a good option too

Banana - you might call them.  They just moved to a bigger location, so they are carrying more dresses now.

I got my dress (PIB - ha, I can say that now) at Circle Park Bridal.  It has a ton of beading and my alterations lady was astonished that I got it for $699.  I highly recommend them.  They are very sweet people and I had a great experience.

Lacey - I bought my dress at Alfred Angelo way back in December. I'm in love with it!

Do research on some bridal shops in the area. A lot of the times they will have trunk shows where you can find designer dresses up to like 75% off. The salon I'm ordering mine (Elizabeth's Bridal) had a lot of dresses that were like 500.00...just not my size. You can probablly find websites to the salons that will have information on them regarding trunk shows....otherwise you can call.

I'm so glad someone posted this! I was needing some ideas of places to go that are not outrageously priced!

Try Bridal Dreams in Fort Worth on Hulen. When I was looking for dresses she had a lot of dresses in that price range and even some samples in the $350 range.

I got my Maggie sample at Anonymously Yours for $300.  They have a lot to choose from, but I think it is hit and miss.

Thank you SO much for the suggestions!

I am going Labor Day weekend so I still have a while to call around to see if there are any trunk shows then.

I will update with where I ended up and the dress I (hopefuly) get!

Group USA at Grapevine.. obviously you have a lot of options.

I will agree with Bridal Co. in Denton.  My sister found her dress at a bridal shop for $1400 and then went to Bridal Co and found it for $400.  My plan was to do that too but I ended up finding an AMAZING deal at David's Bridal and my dress was only $250 with alterations.  You will have to shop around a little but if you know what kind of style you want or a designer it will make it much smoother.  I had no idea what I wanted so I went in lost.  I found a dress that I LOVE but do some research!!

anglcakes - I am going that weekend also, that's when my mom is able to come. Maybe we'll end up in the same places ;)  I haven't seen any trunk shows that weekend, but I did see that Terry Costa is having an Allure trunk show at the end of Sept. and Lulus has a monthly sample sale, but I don't know when it is.

I had my dress made in China, I found a Maggie that I LOVED but couldn't come to spend $700 on it, so a friend of my bridesmaid ordered from weddingo.net and I took a chance and ordered there too. I have been very happy with the results. That same bridesmaid's sister got married in July and also ordered her dress from weddingo.net and hers looked fab! I did take mine in for alterations (Becky Fowler of course!) and I paid a total of $350 for dress and alterations.
They also had crazy fast shipping (free shipping too!) I got mine in in about a month and they said it would take 2-3 months.
I'm glad I went this route because now I can spend the $$ towards other things!
