HELP!!!! I need a Wedding Venue for Nov 2012

Hey guys!

I am trying to find a venue that is in my price range ($2000) I know it sounds crazy but any advice would help. We are both full time students and work full time with little help from our parents. I am a huge DIY gal and have great connections for the food and Dj so I am trying to find a location that can do everything for around $2000 or the rental fee at $1000 with tables chairs. We are thinking 80-100 at the most. I know its a strech but I am open to anything! Thanks for your time :)

Em

  • Check out community centers.  I know Stephie will check in with some DIY venues for you but some of them may have a preferred vendors list.  Off the top of my head, have you checked out the YWCA in Fort Worth?
  • No I havent check there yet but I will, I live in Seagoville and work in Dallas so we are trying to keep it around the Dallas Mesquite Garland area. Should I just go and google community center in my area? Thanks!!

So $2K is just for rental?  If you look at our vendor sticky, lots of those list pricing as well.  Maybe some of these?

    Lofty Spaces
    Off the Grid
    Loft at Gilley's
Occasions at Stone River (Royse City)
    Addison Event Center
    809 Vickery (Ft. Worth)
    Victor's Event Room (Grand Prairie)
    Colleyville Center
    Irving Arts Center

Wasn't there one in Mesquite but all inclusive right?  There's a place in Mesquite (or at least there used to be) that you could rent and it was DIY.  However, that could have been years ago when I was still living there with my family.

There's that Double D Ranch--not sure if it has indoor ceremony though which is why I didn't include it.  Rental is $1700 + 15% tax.

ETA:  Ok, this might work--it says indoor or outdoor.  (It is in such a bad part of town though that is another reason I always hesitate.)  But we've had several use it now so maybe it's not as bad as I think.

OP, sorry I didn't see you wanted that area when I listed those others.

There's also the Hella Shrine Temple in Garland.  I can't find pricing though and also not sure you can bring in your own catering.

  • I think there is one in mesquite. It used to be a house. But I can't remember what it's called. Crap.

Westlake Park House on Gross Road? As of last April, they charge $50.00 per hour with a 4 hour minimum.  Definitely affordable, but very small.  My brother was married there a long time ago and they just did cake/punch as that was really all there was room for.

  • It is a bit further north (Fairview), but the Heard Natural Science Center is $1200 for an all day Saturday rental and includes tables and chairs. 100 people max though. It is completely DIY and BYOB. ($1000 for all day Friday/Sunday).

The Spring Park Event Center in Garland is 1500$ for a Saturday rental, $1300 for a Sunday/Friday rental. http://www.springpark.org/rental_rates.html

  • If you're looking for a church venue, we're using Denton Bible Church...they have a BEAUTIFUL chapel, and we're getting that plus a reception room (with tables and chairs) for $1100.  The reception room is fairly plain, but we're going to add lots of string lights and candles to make it pretty.
  • I actully found the Quick Trip Stadium in Grand Praire its very unique and right in my price range :) Good luck :)
  • Idk if they have any openings in November 2012 (but they have one sat left in Dec 2012- Dec 15)

In your price range and naturally gorgeous. Their excellent holiday decorations go up at Thanksgiving.
