Dress Shopping!

I'm about to start dress shopping and have no idea where to start looking. A lot of boutiques have dresses that I love, but the prices are way out of my range. Does anyone know of any good places that have dress for around $1,000 or less? I've looked at David's Bridal, but I was wondering if there were other places. I live around the Roanoke-Keller area.

  • This link is older than old, BUT it might have a little to get you started.

Most of us here have had budgets of $1k or less.  I ended up spending a little more than I wanted originally at Alfred Angelo  (Got $200 off a $1700 dress so spent $1500).  But I did not know about all the wonderful bridal salons in Dallas--I thought DB or AA would be my only options but after seeing what other girls have gotten, I've learned that's not the case.

Remember to keep in mind alterations and your veil, headpiece, undergarments, etc. when thinking of your budget, as well as jewelry and shoes.

I went to Terry Costa when they were having a 20% off all gowns, and got my Allure dress normally 1100 for around 950 after tax.
Also, don't do alterations at the salon, it's usually much more costly than an independent seamstress.
  • I got my dress at Lulu's. I spent around $1800, but they do have gowns at your price point. I also went to Mockingbird Bridal and Circle Park. I would suggest Circle Park if not Lulu's....they are super sweet! Also, keep an eye out for trunk sales!
  • Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it!
  • Not sure where you are located but Bridal Co. in Allen is great and they do 20%-50% off in store and special order dresses. They are relaly great to work with. When you need alteraltions Becky Fowler is the person to go to. She is fantastic and the sweetest person on earth!!

    Congrats and Happy Hunting! :)

Although it may be a bit out of you way, Classy Concepts in Mansfield has a great selection of gowns from different price ranges.  I bought my gown there and also had mine and my mother's alterations done there, and Sue, the owner, is a super sweet lady and will help you find exactly what you are looking for...just another option if you're ever in that area!
