SATURDAY!

Ahhh, happy wedding day, Kathleen!!!! :-)

What is everyone else up to today?  I'm trying to figure out where I can take FI's truck to have the interior vacuum and steam-cleaned.  Any recs?  Waterworks looks like it would charge me $125 to vacuum it and steam clean his seats and carpet.  Surprised  Holy overpriced, Batman.

Re: SATURDAY!

  • yeah, it is pretty expensive.  I don't know of anywhere cheap.

I need to be studying for final exams (law school), but I am on the knot instead.  :/

  • Is Waterworks that place at University and Greenville?  I loved them, but they jacked their prices up after they got Best of Big D.

There's a place at Forest and the Tollway that is supposed to be really good.

We're in OKC for the day.  We have one more appointment to look at a house, then it's off to banks to get financing.  Our guy from Texas isn't licensed in Oklahoma, sadly.  The couple we're staying with told me they just refinanced their mortgage for an insanely good rate, though, so we're starting with that bank.

Then I'm heading back to Dallas this evening.  BIL and I made a deal -- they took my dogs last night, I'm going to spend the night at their place tonight and watch the kids so he can take SIL out for the night for their anniversary.  SIL doesn't know I'm coming home, though, so the "night away" part is a surprise.  =)

  • I'm going to Kathleen's wedding while Bill continues to pack up the house as we continue to prepare for the floors.

My dad is in the hospital with diverticulitis so we'll go visit him tomorrow and hang with my brother a little bit.
  • Yay Saturday!  Today we have cake tasting appointment at Opulent Cakes and The Cakery.  Then I'm going to a salon to do a trial for airbrush makeup before we have our e-pics this afternoon.  And THEN we are going to a friends house tonight for a cookout/birthday thing.  Busy busy day!

  • Julie, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. :(  I hope he gets to feeling better soon!

Amanda -- No, WaterWorks is on NW Hwy just east of Abrams, I think.  I don't think the one at the Tollway and Forest does steam cleaning, but I might be wrong on that.  I just didn't realize it would be that expensive! :(  FI does not take care of his truck -- at al -- which has always driven me nuts.  So I figured since I need to work on my paint (clay bar/compound/polish/wax) and I'm going to be using an orbital polisher for the first time, I'll use his truck at my guinea pig.  Wink  He's going to be spending more time in his truck when he gets home, so I figured it might be nice to have the inside cleaned out too... though I'm not sure its worth it for $125...

    How's the house-hunting going?

  • Angelsong, I got my car "detailed" inside and out last year for $75 at a dealership (for my Toyota). I don't know if that included steam cleaning though. But you might at least look at dealerships. Sometimes their prices are better than other places.

It is GORGEOUS out today! We slept in because we were out late last night. My only plans for today are to catch up on the laundry and take the dog for a long walk. I love lazy days!
  • I decided to make  Pottery Barn registry.  If we get even one thing on this list, I will be elated!

    edited April 2012
Julie -- I hope your dad feels better and is able to leave the hospital soon!

FI and I had a full day yesterday for our four-year anniversary (went to the Ft. Worth art festival, lunch at Flying Saucer, and dinner at Boi na Braza in Grapevine). We were planning on resting today, but that didn't really happen.

Our second furbaby, Barnaby, had a minor incident yesterday at the Petshotel while we were out. He got a small puncture wound or scratch by his nose from another dog. But he wasn't kicked out or asked to not be brought back, so that's good. It made FI and I realize that it could have been a lot worse.

So instead of resting, today ended up being an errand day. Barnaby got enrolled in beginner classes, we picked up some pave stones for a path in the front yard, and got to witness some type of altercation at the entrance/exit doors of Target. The rest of the night will be less busy, I hope.
  • Amy I got a great deal for a car wash on Groupon a few months ago, so you might check out the deal sites to see if you find anything.

My mom and I started DIY-ing mason jars today. We got about as far as planned, and that was leaving lots of room for errors, so I'm pleased. Still lots more to go, but with my relaxes schedule the next 3 months I should be in good shape.
Next weekend we're going up to Germanfest in Muenster (I'm from that area) and my mom and I are going to print invitations while the boys chop down wood for parts of our centerpieces.
It's SO great to be back doing wedding stuff on the weekend!
  • Offer written. Breath held.

  • My FI gave me his part of the guest list. Ughhhh! He put us over and when I asked him how many of those had kids. His response "I doubt any of the ones from Florida will bring kids" I am not going to assume people won't want to bring their kids. So it's either he's going to have to make some cuts or we aren't going allow kids with the exception of our nieces and nephews. Any thoughts?

<div>Yes!  The house with the blue paint and no drainage issues.  We went back today and they'd done some landscaping, and the builder showed up and answered a TON of our questions.  We obviously won't know anything until tomorrow but we're excited!</div><div>

Woohoo!! I hope everything goes well for you guys both houses were gorgeous!

Today has been the most productive day ever since FI had to work. Four loads of laundry, two workouts, some shopping and honeymoon research :-)

Any opinions on Aruba v. Antigua?
