Dallas Wedding Venues

My bff just got engaged and wants a short engagement. She'd like her wedding to be in May. She needs wedding venue suggestions. Evening wedding, indoor preferred, she will do a hotel ballroom, but wouldn't mind other suggestions.

Thanks in advanace girls!

Lots of Knotties will be willing to help, but we need to know a few more things.

-Dallas is very expansive. What part?

-Do you have any idea of her budget?

-Does she want a DIY venue (bringing in decor, alcohol, catering, etc.) or a one stop shop?

Oh and one more thing, what is the guest count?

My personal favorites are La Cima and Winfrey Point.

Yikes--May is going to be tough for a lot of places. At our venue, the entire month of June 2010 was booked by mid-Feb of 2009. I  suggest she checks out Country Clubs and Golf Clubs, but BalletBride is right--location, guest count, and budget would help a lot

Good details to ask about, BalletBride. Here is what I know:

    - Downtown/Uptown/North Dallas area
    - She'd like to spend $10k and under for venue, food and alcohol, which is clearly easier with a DIY venue, so she's open to that.
    - Guest count is about 150

    Thanks girls!

Try Cityplace.  Minimums for both available rooms are under 10K and they can fit 150.  You have to use their food/beverage, but we are doing open bar, apps, and a meal for under that.

Definitely try Country Clubs then. The Hickory Street Annex was nice, but it is probably booked.

If she is open to something a little different, she should definitely check out 7Senses (7Senses.biz). It's a art gallery that the owners host events in. My gosh is it cool--I would have booked there in an instant, but Jay wanted a more traditional ballroom wedding. I believe it was $3500--it's just south of downtown.

I've been dying for someone on here to get married there, just so I can see the pics.

Marissa, a knottie had her reception there and Lynn Michelle took the pictures.  Jacque:

Cappella Court is an "all inclusive" location. They just opened a new location in March of this year, but I chose them because of location, and I LOVED the ballroom. Plus, all food, drinks, and even centerpeices if you want to use theirs (which are NICE, not cheapy) are included.

Sweet! Those pictures are amazing. 7 Senses is so cool--you could have an amazing wedding on a budget there since you really don't even need decorations. If we weren't haveing such a large wedding and Jay wasn't set on a ballroom-style reception, I would have booked there in a heartbeat.

I'm also VERY impressed at Lynn Michelle's work there--that lighting is a pain in the butt. She did a great job

I would like to piggy back off of the initial question.  I am looking for something really small and intimate.  When I say small I am talking just the bride, grom, parents, photographer and officiant.  Does anyone have suggestions for something that small?
