One of the last times I went to the West Coast, I was tired by 9 PM (11 here) and was up at 6 AM.  My aunt and uncle thought there was something wrong with me.
  • FI and I did long distance Dallas to LA for a year and a half (and he still goes out there for project work), and our schedule is a mess.
Especially when I like to get to work early, around 6:30, and everyone in the film industry starts their shoots at 10am (unless they're doing a sunrise scene). So I'm going to lunch when he starts his day, and I'm going to bed in the middle of his work day.

2 hours makes such a bigger difference than people realize.

I know this so well. FI goes to Vegas all the time for film shoots. Two hours makes a huge difference- we usually end up talking just a few times a day for maybe an hour at most :(

I am doing a P&R- I have had calls since 7AM. I see no end in sight.
  • I got to spend FIVE WHOLE DAYS with my husband.  Wish it could have been under better circumstances, but wow.  I finally feel like I'm married.

And if his boss decides to send him to this training in Carrollton, it'll be more like TWO WHOLE WEEKS.

And I am unbelievably excited for Wendi's wedding.

  • Is this day totally dragging for anyone else? Or is no one on the boards because they're busy? I'm jealous of those who have things to occupy their time at work today!

A little of both for me. Depending on the class I'm either working up to the bell or I have way too much downtime.  It's frustrating.

On top of H's cousin dying, we found out yesterday that one of our former camp kids, now a senior in college, also died last week.  I'm really trying to just take everything in and really enjoy my time with my students from now on.

I haven't found a dress either - the one I wanted to NO WHERE in stores, and I have to order online... and I don't have enough time to get it to me.  :(

<div>Amanda- T&Ps to you, it's so hard to go through loss, and then to find out about someone else while you're still trying to recover is devastating. Life is precious, for sure.</div>

Thanks.  I was actually kind of morbidly amused that the priest at the church we attended on Sunday gave a homily about being angry with God and referenced several instances where he had to counsel families grieving the loss of their children.  I was like, "Are you freaking kidding me, how perfect is this?"

<div>God works in mysterious ways... He probably knew that's what you needed to hear. I watched "Courageous" this weekend and it helped me recognize a lot of residual grief and anger I didn't know I still had from losing FI's grandma suddenly about 15 months ago. The part that helped me was when they talked about how you get to choose between appreciating the time you had when your loved one and cherishing those memories or being angry about the time you didn't get with them... powerful stuff.</div>

We still call the house we put an offer on "our house."  We have been out with our Realtor to look at other houses since then and I found myself saying, "Gah, this isn't nearly as nice as OUR house."  My poor, poor Realtor.  ;-)

I'm sorry you weren't able to buy your house. :(
