the orion ballroom anyone??

does anyone have any opions on this place? I dont think its on the knot venue list. just wondering if any of you have heard or had any experiences with this venue?

ETA: It is  expensive and sadly, it's in a part of town that I may not want my guests to have to navigate at night.

It's pretty.  There are similar places I like better though.

ML&CJ and I both contacted them and the coordinator brushed both of us off. Don't even bother.

They are currently having a 50% of room rental special for June, July, August, or September 2011. I looked into having mine there but it would've been my whole budget just to have the venue, food, and drinks.

thanks ladies. The lady on the phone seemed very nice and it was perfect for our budget but Im too happy about the location or neighborhood its in.

La Cima was very popular back when I started planning.  A couple of Knotties from a couple of years ago used them and they were all happy.  It also has an outdoor ceremony space which I like.  It's very pretty I think and IMO has a little more character than just a ballroom.

Piazza in the Village is very beautiful also.

I loved the style of it. The coordinator was RUDE and completely unprofessional. i'd move along sadly :(

I just booked my wedding at the Orion Ballroom. The staff is very professional and if you haven't been around Oak Cliff lately, it isn't a bad neighborhood. The price is very reasonable considering the beautiful view that you get of Downtown Dallas. I am very excited for my wedding. I have shown people pictures of the location and everybody has said I haven't seen a place that beautiful in a long time. Plus check out the Bishop Arts District located 5 minutes down the road, I think you will change your mind about Oak Cliff.
