NWR: Moths :(

So I went to get dressed this morning and saw a moth flying around in my closet. This really upset me! The last thing I need is moths eating my clothes!

Any suggestions on how to get rid of them?

I thought they were only really attracted to, and ate wool and cashmere type stuff?  All my heavy sweaters aren't even hanging in that closet, so I'm not sure what they would be eating.

I really don't want to find holes in my clothes..I will be one unhappy lady! Yell

My dad and DH LOVE moth balls...they have some weird passion for it so it must be a guy thing.

If you don't like the smell- don't blame you!-I've heard that cedar wood works.

    Here's what Wikipedia says:
Several moths in the family Tineidae are commonly regarded as pests because their larvae eatfabric such as clothes and blankets made from natural proteinaceous fibers such as wool orsilk.[5] They are less likely to eat mixed materials containing artificial fibers. There are some reports that they can be repelled by the scent of wood from juniper and cedar, by lavender, or by other natural oils. However, many consider this unlikely to prevent infestation. Naphthalene(the chemical used in mothballs) is considered more effective, but there are concerns over its effects on human health. Moth larvae may be killed by freezing the items which they infest for several days at a temperature below −8 °C (17.6 °F).[6]

Hmmm...thanks. Not sure what they've "infested", so I wouldn't know what to freeze. But I'll try moth balls to be safe I guess.

You never know...the moth could have just gotten into your house and then gotten closed into the closet.  So maybe it's just the one.  I'd hold out and see if you find anymore in the next few days.
