outdoor venues

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knew of good outdoor venues in the area or any venues that have a garden/patio vibe? We plan on getting married in October, and will have between 150-200 people and do not have a large budget. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks

Re: outdoor venues

  • In the Houston area?

In this area I would try The Sanford house in Arlington.
That's the only thing that I can think of right off hand.

  • La Buena Vida in Grapevine. Not sure if they can accommodate 200 but if your budget is small you might need to cut your list down. That's the easiest way to save money. What is your budget for venue?
  • I got marries at La Buena Vida Winery in Grapevine and it definitely has the feel.
  • Dallas Arboretum, Winfrey Point, Filter Building (although I don't think it will hold 200) are all good choices.

Are you looking for all-outdoor, or just outdoor ceremony?

TexanTreasure got married at the Trinity River Audubon Center in October and it was absolutely beautiful.

And I once attended a wedding at a zoo, and I thought that was really neat.  I don't know if I would want the Dallas Zoo and FW Zoo would probably cost an arm and a leg, though...

  • I am looking at both all-outdoor and just outdoor ceremony locations. I have been looking at the Audubon Center but was concerned because the water in a picture I saw looked like pure mud. Thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely check them out.

  • I'm having 150 guests at the Filter Building and I doubt it would hold much more with a dance floor. Their website says capacity 200, but that is the entire building with no band, dj, or dance floor.
  • A and M Gardens in Azle!  That's where we are getting married.  It has outdoor ceremonies and indoor receptions.  Would definitely hold your amount of people!
