2nd wedding band?

So I really want a 2nd wedding band to go with my E-ring and wedding band.

I know tradition usually is to wait until the 1st anniversary. I'm impatient. hahaha.

I have a valid reason:

I like to wear my wedding band alone sometimes, without my E-ring. And I just feel like it's a little too thin, IMO to wear alone and so I want another one to go with it for when I wear them sans E-ring.

My birthday is coming up next month, and I'm thinking about asking DH for it instead of waiting until next year. He says he thinks that will take the "meaning" out of it, if we buy it now, versus waiting.

Personally, I don't agree. Because I think that 1 year is special, as will every anniversary of course. But it's not like "OMG...we made it to one year, that's just AMAZING"

I want opinions...anyone think I should just wait for our 1 year anniversary, or who cares, if I want it, just get it now?

I can always count on you ladies for honest opinions!

I think you should wait for your one year....that way you have something to look forward to. Your birthday present should be something you enjoy, like a spa day, shopping, or even a necklace or right hand ring, etc. but I just think the anniversary band should wait until the one year :)

I say wait... your DH is right... the extra band has meaning and I think that you will be happy that you ended up waiting.  :)

I'm with you, I don't think it's a big deal. But, if your husband thinks it will be more special to wait until your anniversary, let him wait until then. I think he'll appreciate it.

I know how you feel.... because we're not even married yet (2 more weeks!) and I'm already looking forward to possbily getting an anniversary band.  Some people say to wait even until your 5th anniversary to get the anniversary band.

I just think with my style of ring, it would look great with one wedding band and a matching anniversary band.  :)

BUT... I'm with everyone else.  Even thought I share your excitement, you should wait.

I am one that hates waiting for things so I totally understand and wouldnt want to wait either.  However if your H feels like it would have meaning and wants it to be special for you and him then I would let him do it on his own time.

Yep - wait it out.  :)

He says he doesn't care, he just thinks it'll be more special to ME, to wait.

But then I wonder if a second wedding band will be too much, with my band and E-ring when I wear them together. So I will probably just wear the 2 bands together when I'm not wearing my E-ring. I just think it may be way too much bling if I add another band with everything...

    What do y'all think?

I think a second band would look good, help balance it out. I see what you mean b/c your E-ring is thick, but I think it will look good :)

Is it tradition to get another one at the first anniversary?  If so, then Bill is in the doghouse!  :)

I think you should wait.  It will be special no matter when you get it.

For what it's worth, I sometimes just wear my little wedding band so I see where you're coming from.

No, I don't think it's necessarily "tradition", but I think if you're going to get a second wedding band because you want one, then a lot of people get them for anniversaries. I hear a lot of girls getting them on their 1st.

But, everyone is different. I've never been the type to do things a certain way because everyone else does them that way.

I'll probably get an anniversary band too. We'll probably buy it soon just so it matches but it will sit in the closet for a year and a half. :(
