B&M Monday

I'm off work today.... to go sit at the DMV and SSO again.  Boo.  Hopefully this time I can get things resolved.  I didn't realize the SSO is only open from 9:00-3:30.  And here I was all prepared to be there by 7:30 for when they opened at 8.

Re: B&M Monday

  • angel---I despise the DMV with a passion!!  It seems like every time I choose to go, everyone in my area decides to go as well...hope your day goes by smoothly!

I B&M that it's already Monday again, and the weekend flew by too fast...we need to have more 3 day weekends!

  • Main reason I haven't changed my name yet either!  DMV!

My B&M is that our little guy was up all night throwing up.  Not. Fun.  Doing better so far this morning, so hopefully he just ate to much junk or something didn't agree with him on our trip this weekend.  And no fever, so that makes me happy.

And did anyone else see Carrie's sneak peek on JChristopher's Facebook page?  Beautiful!
  • I don't really have anything to BM about. Amy good luck at the DMV SS office. Ughhh don't envy you that.

  • Ugh, Monday! Last night at our softball game I collided with our first baseman, got knocked down, and my head bashed into the ground. I have the worst pain today and can't put my hair back as a result. Heat+rapunzel hair=angry smurf. Thankfully I didn't have any symptoms of a concussion--just a knot the size of the softball I was going for in the first place :( Sleeping was definitely a challenge, so I'm a bit groggy.
We also have our great niece staying with us for a few days, who is a year and a half. She is a lot of fun until bedtime, which she apparently thinks is screamin time.

See this time, I got smart. I hit up to SSO first thing this morning so there are only half the ppl here there were last time. I'm also driving out to Rockwall to go to the DMV. There is just no way it can ne nearly as busy as Tue Dallas and Plano offices. Ugh.

Entertain me! There are seriously faux Star Trek ads for the SSO playing in here right now. HALP.

Ahhh B&M this boring boring Monday! I have absolutely no way of entertaining myself at work this morning, and I can almost garuntee it's going to be horribly slow at my other job tonight.

In a week, I will be in NOLA, and a few days after that, the beach. I am so excited and I wish it were here already!!
  • I have to trek up to Flower Mound in a bit to drop off some collateral for an expo next week; something my national marketing team dropped the ball on, and I spent the weekend scrambling to fix.

Oh, and I spent yesterday at the doggie doc, cause of a tiff old man Jeter and young pup Bourbon had. Jeter's bruise ruptured yesterday and they had to flush it out and get him some anti-inflammatory meds and antibiotics. Luckily he took everything like a champ. I was set back about $200 though, and had to re-evaluate my summer budget since I was trying to have my Credit Cards at $0 balances before our Labor Day trip to New Orleans.

Having used Rockwall since I first got my learner's permit (waaaay back when), I can safely say that unless word has got out about them, they are a BREEZE to get through.  Occasionally you'll have about 5 or 6 people to wait behind, but they're nothing compared to the horror stories I've heard about Dallas and Plano.

I'm B&Ming about the new hornet's nest that's building right outside our freaking doorway.  I'm absolutely terrified of anything that stings (I've been known to scream at a bug if it flies toward me).  FI was supposed to knock it down when it got dark last night, but he kinda dropped the ball on that one...

I'm waiting at Rockwall now. Line was out the door. Probably an hour wait, and they don't have chairs here. Probably still better than Dallas but boo...

  • Raehny -- that wasp/hornet spray they sell is amazing.  You can stand like 20 feet away and it kills those suckers dead.  =)

I'm back in OKC.  Saturday was really fun, except two of my girlfriends ended up drunk and bawling.  One of them had a good reason to cry, the other one was literally just crying because she was wasted.  I ended up getting home at like 3 am and then getting up to run around on Sunday, so I was WIPED OUT.  I went back to my aunt's house around 6 and tried to take a nap, but I slept until like 11:30.  So I had to get up early today to get to OKC and drop my car off at the shop.

Oh, and two of the blinds H ordered are too big because he measured incorrectly.  I'm trying not to point out that by having to order new ones we're no longer saving any money than if we'd just let a professional do it.  :/

  • Oh, and I gotta be honest -- Winfrey Point is NOT good for a summer wedding, even if all you have is the reception and it's all indoors.  The A/C just could NOT keep up with 200 guests who kept opening doors (plus the food was all on the screened patio, so waiting in line was torturous.  It got better after it rained, but omg.  Please don't do that to your guests.  =(

I hope Filter Building was better for Carrie's wedding.

  • Professorscience - Thank you!!!  I'll probably still make the boy kill 'em, but that's good to know (our row of townhouses has had major issues with wasps the past two summers).  I may have to keep it on me like mace.  :)

Angelsong21 - That sucks.  :(  It's been a few years since I had to go there, I guess everyone found out about them?  There used to be NO ONE there...  Hope it goes quickly from here!

OUCH!!!! I hope you start feeling better today! Do you have a concrete base on the backstop where you play? All I can think of is you cracking your head on the corner of where the fence meets concrete :(
As much as I would like to blame it on the first baseman (who I am not a fan of to begin with), it was totally my fault for not calling her off the ball. I was playing pretty far back at 2nd and it was a shallow blooper. I thought I could get to it, and I didn't realize she was going for it too. If the ball dropped (which totally happened, since I was flat on my back seeing stars and whatnot) if I would have fielded it normally she wouldn't have been on the base to make the play anyhow. Oopsies. I should have stayed on the bench since I was just subbing and acting as an extra hitter. My elbow has been bothering me for a few months (probably from all the dart playing) and I hesitated going on the field. Now I know better.

rae -- Yeah, I think everyone has definitely found out about them.  Probably half of the people in line were from the Plano area and drove out there because Plano was a 4-hour wait.  I only waited about an hour to get up to the counter, but standing the whole time really sucked.  I would do it all over again ANY day though instead of sitting for four hours...ugh.  The guy at the counter said it was like that every day there.

Also, ditto the wasp spray that Professor mentioned.  I have that stuff (you can buy it at Home Depot out in the garden section -- its a more potent one in the garden center versus the one inside the store, don't ask me why -- black top on the can) and it works BRILLIANTLY.  At our old apt, we had wasps/hornets all over my little inset balcony.  The apartment would come over and kick off the nests but as you can imagine, that was less-than-helpful.  I sprayed some of that stuff out there on the new nest, killed four adult ones, and proceeded to cover my patio with the stuff.  I never saw another wasp out there for the remaining months we lived there -- not one.  It really repels for a month like the can promises.  Now I spray it in our breezeway and we never have a problem.  LOVE IT.

  • I'm livid.
I've been waiting for 2 hours for the guy to come replace the part he backordered for us 5 months ago.
I gave him an extra 30 minutes before I called.
He's broke down on the road...apparently. He's been trying to "get things together to move forward" but "hasn't been able to move that fast". WTF? Sounds to me like homeboy doesn't have the part.
ALSO, Maybe a freaking phone call when you realized..."Oh Hey, I'm not gonna make that....".
