I think the problem with the vendors posting is that there are newbies on here that may not realize they are vendors ....

BTW, Tiffany, I was wondering where you were bc we really needed that elephant pic .... ;)

We had family in town for the two weeks surrounding the wedding, which meant we did lots of entertaining (aka eating). On top of that, I haven't been to the gym in well over a month, so I've gained 5 pounds. I think a lot of it is probably just bloating, but still, with the honeymoon and the holidays still to come, I predict that it's going to be difficult to get off.

Plus I'm tired and I probably won't get home until around 9pm tonight.

Infamous - that sounds really crappy and I can completely empathize with you.  I hope the interview goes well.

Renee - I can completely understand you are upset if you think another person has posted something negative about you, but your response seems a bit harsh.

And I'll say it here, too.  Just because you don't like someone else's vendor (in your opinion, they are mediocre) - does not make it right to use that to attack someone else.  We all may not necessarily like someone else's dress, venue, etc, but that doesn't mean we come out and tell them how horrible it is.  Their wedding vendor selections are up to them.  Don't be rude.

The post about the Ivory/White dresses comes from our June 2011 Month board. Someone did a poll on if you think the trend of White/Ivory BM dresses was cool. I think she just posted wrong.

I can respect your opinion and point of view, when you act like an adult; like you and Brooke do.

I'm not any harsher on here then I am in real life. If you're acting childish and immature I will call you out on it. Ignorance is one thing I have very low tolerance for and when I try to educate you and then you're rude back to me I will get "crazy". My students know that and even people on here know that.

Perhaps you're both right, maybe I was a little too harsh. But, if one thinks so let me know in a way that you and Brooke did. In a non-rude attack-y way.

I have to say that attacking her choice of photographer is not only attacking her, but other people who also use her "mediocre" choice of photographer.  I obviously think that comment was rude (because I've said it like 5 times).  It's also very uncalled for and a childish attack on your part.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Small venue needed! : I saw this after I posted in the B&M thread and I honestly have to say that this is really rude.  You may not like this photographer - which yep, is also my photographer - but I do like her.  I think she is a great photographer and really worked with my budget.  YOU don't have to recommend this photographer in the future, but that really doesn't mean you have to be rude about the photographer.  We all have opinions about certain things, but I would never call someone else's vendor "mediocre".  It's rude.

I wrote this in the other thread, but decided that it should probably do here too.

The difference between you and her is that you didn't wh0re the photographer out all the time and then not even pick the best picture to post. I should have been more clear with what I said, but if you're going to post every other post about how great your photographer is pick an awesome picture to showcase, like you did.

She threw out a suggestion based on a wedding that size that she had attended that she thought was nice. She also mentioned she was not sure of the pricing.  How was that attack-y?  That is the kind of suggestions brides are looking for on here.

The thing is we have told her several times that the venue does not fit within the "small venue" and "budget friendly" catergories and yet she still reccomends it. It's the same as everybody that gets frustrated about the threads that ask for a DJ suggestions over and over again. We have told you the answer and yet you still ask. It's like that.

This is my response from the other thread.

So you made a judgement call about her photographer based on her siggy pic.  Kind of like she made a judgement call on your venue based on a wedding she attended.  Hmm.

My issue isn't even with her recommending your venue.  My issue is that you attacked her by talking negatively about her vendor choices.  It was childish and immature on your part.  The point I'm trying to make is that we may not always like the vendor choices that others make, but it doesn't mean we attack them or call them out on it.  It's fine that you disagree with her recommendation.  Now the OP of that thread knows that that venue may not be a good idea for her.  Let's try to remain constructive.

ETA: And while I appreciate the cute animal pictures, I really think this is a big deal.

    This is too funny!

I think we can all agree that we all have different tastes! And that's wonderful, because if we all liked the same things we'd all have the same weddings... How boring would that be.

There are a few vendors that are very highly recommended on here that I've either met with, tasted their foods, or experienced their services at other weddings. I did not hire them because I did not like them. But I'm not going to bash them when others recommend them. Obviously, they were happy, and maybe the new bride would be, too. No big deal.

Plus, if a newbie bride is careless enough to not do their homework on our recommendations, then that's their fault not ours. Surely, this girl wouldn't book a venue without visiting it to make sure it worked for her. We are not experts, just brides with our own experiences.

I get it - y'all didn't like our 'bickering'.  I do think that we all need to be constructive in our criticism going forward and not attack each other's vendor selections.  I do think that needed to be said.  So, I said it.
