Leaving your dress at the shop?

So is it normal to leave your dress at the shop that you purchased it at? I left it there and will be coming back when I get it altered (They are doing the alterations) I just keep getting worried that it might not be there when I want to get it. Did anyone else leave their dress at the store?

Mine is at the store until April when my mom comes to pick it up.  It will the be placed in her home most likely, or at my grandparents.

I think it's okay as long as you're having it altered at the store too. I have the dress at my parents' now, but will be leaving it at a store (at somebody's house) who will do the alternations.

Mines at the store as well.  They actually offered to bring it to the place I'm getting it altered once I make my appointment.

I didn't buy mine at a store but if I did I would have felt comfortable leaving it there if I was getting alterations done.  Which reminds me I need to make a note to schedule an alterations appointment.

Dress #1 is still at the shop.  I'll probably pick it up soon though because they do not do alterations there.

Dress #2 is in the works!  (woohooo Marchesa sweepstakes prize)

I still don't know what I'm doing about my dress situation!  They need to hurry it up and finish dress #2 so I can make my final decision about which I am really going to wear.  I'd probably be stupid not to wear the free designer prize dress, but I really love my original $500 Mori Lee dress!

I had to pick mine up when it came in and need to bring it back for alterations, but I have heard of other stores in the area that store the dress for you. The store I got my dress at just doesnt have the space for extra dresses

I picked mine up from the store and it is at my parent's house. I was not comfortable leaving it at the store because they have a reputation of having difficulties as far a mix-ups and losing things, not to mention if the store were to burn down or close unexpectedly.

Mine is at the store. They are doing the alterations so they'll hold it until they are finished. Which is good because I'm not sure I have anywhere to put it!

My dress is still at the store and I plan on leaving it until I need to start alterations.  I have gone to "vist" my dress a few times now so I am ok with leaving it
