Contracts

So, I'm about to sign some contracts and to be honest... it SCARES me!

Hiring a vendor isn't what scares me, but just the length of some of their contracts and their wording. I can't even understand or make sense of what they are trying to say. Not to mention that some are filled with typos.

Is this the norm?

I work at a law firm so they are pretty easy for me to understand :)

If you don't understand ASK!! A good, trustworthy vendor will explain all aspects of their contract if you dont understand. Just don't sign anything if you are not sure....it could leave to a headache down the road

I have had contracts that are straight forward and easy one page documents and others that are 15 pages where I have to initial by every paragraph so they really can vary.  If there is something you are unclear about just ask and do not sign if you are unclear what it means or it seems like you are not getting a straight answer.

    I agree with PP's advice.

Personally, I wouldn't sign with anyone who had a contract filled with typo's.   That's just really unprofessional.

I agree if asking questions makes you feel better do it. I was nervous too, but it was because I was nervous about booking them. You may want to watch out for a vendor that doesn't even have spell check or someone look over their contracts.

This one contract was filled with legal words and everything sounded repeatitive. I contacted the vendor and they were very nice about it. They said their office manager must of sent a draft or something, she would  send me one yesterday. They said they would explain it to me as well...it never came. I moved on!

It made me sad because I was in LOVE with them, but like TIffany said that seems very unprofessional.
