Stress looming

So, tomorrow is our RSVP day, and we still have 51 people that we haven't heard from (about half of those are pairs). I am so glad that I made my RSVP date about 2 weeks before we have to give official numbers, so that FI and I can work on calling each of these folks! Hope everyone else is having better luck... 

My favorites though are the "maybes"... LOL, seriously?! I don't have the money to waste on someone who "might" come... Any suggestions on how you ladies are dealing with that one?

Also, I tried to post this the other day, but TK ate my post (or I screwed something up, which is also possible)... but dress alteration issues have started. I picked someone who comes highly recommended on my local board. I started having issues with her already (prior to my first scheduled fitting which is next Monday)... not communicating, deciding to not have me come in early as previously discussed to see the major alterations she's doing (entirely new skirt). I hoping that Monday goes well, but now, based on my interaction so far, I'm super nervous. Less than 2 months to go, and I'm really hoping I don't need to go out and buy a new dress or something crazy! Oh, and to add to my stress, a girl on my local board posted a negative review about that particular vendor based on her experience... YIKES! Well, guess I can just hope for the best, at this point, right?

I can understand the dress stress. I bought my dress through brides against breast cancer so all the $ would go to terminal cancer patients and I had 2 seamstresses that flat out told me no and to go get a new dress and a tailor that was really flakey told me about how he hated to work on wedding dresses and he wasn't sure when he would be able to "fit it in". Finally I ended up with my sister's seamstress (even though it is way inconveinent because it is in SC (where the wedding will be) and I am in MD. I am itching with anticipation to try it on again since getting altered! 

As for your RSVP stress, I would just divide up the list and set a # of calls to make over the next week or so and knock it out as team. Treat yourselves to something after you complete it.

Thats sucks about the seamstress...sorry to hear that. My RSVP date is on the 24th and still waiting on 80 ppl...good thing my sister is the one calling. My vendor needs the list 7 days in advance. naarnold...that's great having 72hr before the day to give your list. That will make it more accurate!!!

I'm having such a bad feeling about our RSVPs also. Our date isn't until 3-31, so people have another 2 weeks. It just feels like no one wants to RSVP!

I understand the RSVP stress...though really, I'm being unreasonable in that I still have 2 weeks left AND my invites went out late...BUT I"M INPATIENT haha.  My count has to be at the venue 10 days out, but I was hoping to have a good idea closer to the 21 of this month so i had a better idea of how many tables I'd need for my florist who is doing mockups around then.

As far as dress issues.....my alterations came with my dress cost so i really shouldn't complain....but....when I bought my dress I mentioned how I wanted to put a crinoline underneath that I was "borrowing" from someone else and that I wanted to make the neckline into a sweetheart (right now it has a slight swoop but itsn't quite enough) well at my first fitting, I was told to wait until they bust was taken in.  At my second fitting the lady tried to convince me that it would ruin the dress to add it in and she refuses to do it.  I'm just not trying to have the extra stress of arguing with her but it was VERY disappointing.

My RSVP date is today too and are missing pretty much the same amount of people as you.  We are starting to follow up with those people tomorrow.

I know, it's ridiculous when people are like 'Maybe I can come.'  Maybe!??!  For me, some people are RSVPing Yes, but not telling me their meal choice, when I've clearly asked for that info, so I then have to call them back anyway. I'm not so bad on the % of RSVPs back - Only about 12-14 folks of the 30 left to respond are people I expect to be able to come, and I've already started bugging them to RSVP now, even though they've got 2 more weeks officially. I want to ge them out of the way!

I don't know how you ladies with large guest lists do it!  We only invited 100 people. Come on Hawaii!

You die slowly....My issue is...I have to pay for 150 adults so I'm playing that game where as I get a no I try to pop out another invite....I know its kinda terrible but if I could have afforded more, I would have and by the same token, if I have to pay for 150, I want to have 150....ugh

My RSVP date is today too, and I'm waiting to hear on about 40 people.  My personal favorite:  my aunt, who I knew wouldn't RSVP on time (She never does), was emailing with my dad the other day, and my dad knows she hasn't RSVPed yet, so he asks her "hey, are you planning on going to B's wedding?" and she wrote back that she was "probably" going to go, but she's just so busy she hasn't had time to send back the RSVP card.  Yet, she did have time to explain this in great detail in an email.  SMH.

Phone calling will start tomorrow, I'm going to make a list tonight after I check the mail to figure out who needs to be called, and then I'm splitting it up between my mom and FMIL to call non-RSVPed family members, I'll call my friends who haven't RSVPed.

Good thing I don't need any super solid numbers for 2 weeks.

I know this is probably terrible, but it does make me feel a little better to know that we're not the only ones with flaky friends and family. The calls will start tomorrow... I've already made a list for me and for FI to get started. Fun times! As all this RSVP stuff is getting taken care of though, I'm starting to get more and more stressed about the wedding! It's so real now!

Can't wait to hear how everyone's weddings turn out! (I'll keep you all posted on the dress situation, too!).

That's exactly what ticks me off! In the time it took you to explain why you couldn't send the card back, you could've lifted the lever on the mailbox & sent it to me. After this, I'm going to be extra conscious to return RSVPs promptly.

We had to chase a few people down too. and some that I just knew wouldn't go to Vegas for the wedding, I didn't even bother to call them. I personally find it very rude of people not RSVPing on time. Come on.. either you really want to go or just say no. They probably think that by dragging their response to saying "no" for a long time is supposed to make us feel better? Ugh!

My RSVP date is the 21st. I have had both sides(my dad emailing and his dad calling) each side to ask them if they are coming and please rsvp ahead. I sent the invitations out like in early january, save hte date in october so most people knew if they were coming. Most are also from out of town and waited till the last second to book the hotel in the hotel block so now it's full and people are complaining they coudln't get the rate oh well.    Some family is soo rude becasue I gave them the option to rsvp on my website or send in the card (no stamp included). most actually still sent the card and added the stamp. I thought it would be easier online. We invited 232, we bugged enough to get 115 so far (we estimated betwene 100-150 would come since most are out of town). Still have 33 that didn't respond and deadline is this week. The rest that didn't respond to emails etc we are just going to put decline ourselves at the deadline. 

I hate when people put maybe as their answer. Have they never planned any parties? Good luck ladies. good to know i am not the only one stressing
