Sorry to hear that Tiffany I know you've had the hardest time finding a house. I hope it works out soon.

My B&M is that I can't find my camera since I've been back!! This is the camera FI got me last year for my birthday and I hate to tell him I can't find it. I called my uncle in India to see if I left it there. If not it might be on one of the 3 flights we took to get here! I tried to call the airline over the weekend and got nowhere. I pray I just overlooked it while unpacking and it's in my room somewhere.

I just found out where the wedding we are going to is on Saturday Feb 5th (the day before SuperBowl), it's just south of downtown FTW off 30.  The only way to get their from my mom's house (since we are picking her up) is to down 35 to 30.  Traffic on 35 is already horrible but add all the crazy people in town that will be heading downtown to see the ESPN broadcast and all the other events downtown and it's going to be a nightmare.  We could take a bunch of back roads but not sure about all that.  Plus we want to go eat before the 7:30 wedding since they aren't feeding us so with all the people we will probably have to be somewhere around 5:30 or 6 to eat and then get to the wedding on time.  I hate traffic!!!

I wish FI would stop being so irritating this morning. Seems like everything is annoying him today...which in turn is rubbing off on to me...

Hmmm, are they doing it multiple weekends?  The only reason I ask is that my HS is doing West Side Story and the other HS in our district is doing HS Musical.  I want to see both of those but I know they're running for two weekends.

My B&M for today is that we arrived home from our HM this weekend to water in the bathroom and a damp closet that backs up to the guest bathroom.  A steady stream of water coming from the tank handle is probably the reason...which was supposedly fixed the week of the wedding.  And even though it wasn't fixed right the first time the plumber can't come out until tomorrow.  When I'm supposed to be at work for the first time in 2 weeks.

But my sweet husband is volunteering to be the one to come home for the plumber.

My B&M today:

I've become an insomniac over this wedding planning stuff.  Last night, I just couldn't sleep!
Yesterday we went to get a quote on invitations... $1000!!!! OH EM GEE!  for 120 invitations. nothing fancy, just the pocket folders, with rsvp card, the invite and the directions card.
I hit the floor and died!
when I came to that evening I went on cards and pockets .com and figured out I can purchase all of the elements of the invitation and save $500!
The actual invitation however is the majority of the cost. but I love it.  what to do what to do.
Every element of this wedding is more than I budgeted. (except for the dress, it was $100 less!)

Ummmm my B&M is that one of my prof's today said that UTA is contracting out parking for the superbowl starting on Thursday. That's going to be not good for me. Not good at all.

Natalie - I paid to park in the parking garage last semester (I didn't get a pass...just paid each time)

It might be your saving grace next week.    (Side note: I would be absolutely infuriated if I was still a student.   You pay tuition and parking fees for the right to park there and unless they plan to cancel classes then they have NO right to contract out lots)

Julie - Sorry I'm just now responding, I went to the grocery store. The dates for the show are Feb. 3, 5, 6, 7. All are in the evening except the 6th, which is a matinee. I'm not sure why there's not a show on Friday, but I didn't plan that part.

I have several B&M today, besides the major one (other thread), I fell on Saturday and hurt my foot... it really hurts when I walk.. its not swollen so hopefully is not to bad.

The other one, well is more like a flame, I went to Mii's Bridals on Sat. I called beforehand to ask if they had plus size samples they said yes. When I get there I told the lady that I was looking for a wedding dress for me.. she looked me up from head to toes and then repeated in disbelief: for you?! yes for me I said, She gave me again a top to bottom look and then proceeded to hand me a size 24 her I only have this for you!  WOW what a way to make me feel horrible! The dress was horrible also. Not a good experience.

From my experience , many of the women who work in bridal shops have some sort of elitist  attitude no matter what size you are... At first I was offended, but I bet they developed their bitchy attitudes over a long of period of time of helping so many women try on dress after dress after dress. I bet that can get annoying, but it still doesn't give them the right to give attitude to potential buyers.

I agree with Kathy and Tiffany - I didn't have a great experience buying a dress really.  It was just eh...

The only place that was really nice to me was Ocone's in Fort Worth... even though I didn't end up buying a dress there, they treated me wonderfully.  FWIW, maybe you could give them a try?

But, I do agree with N&M  - you need to let the owner know about this.  And yelp, and wedding wire... and anywhere else that you can put up a review.  That's awful.

OR - have you considered having a dress made?  I know that Becky Fowler makes dresses and she is the absolute sweetest woman I've met.  I bet that if you had an idea of what you wanted - she could make it for you.

Seriously WTF. I have gotten an elitist feel from the few stops I've had at bridal stores (only chains so far, nothing boutique-y) and I've wanted to tell them to stop acting like they are Kleinfelds. I'm sorry you had to deal with that :(
