Suprise Honeymoon.. Now what?!

My dear beautiful Dallas Brides... HELP!!!! I found out last week that my uncle is wanting to "pay for our honeymoon" (amazing! cause we weren't going to have one with all the other bills racking up!) BUT we are only off Friday, Sat and Sunday and need to stay in state, and not too expensive! (I don't want to over take advantage of this gift)
SOOOOOO... I hate researching for trips and even though I have lived in Dallas my entire life I am not too knowledgable about "honeymoon picks and ideas" and I know there has to be plenty of great ideas so please feel free to throw them my way!!
*O here is the skinny~~Our Wedding is Dec 1, we don't care too much for posh Zaza type hotels if can only afford the room and no activitites, and would like as much inclusive things as possible!*

Look forward to great ideas and advice!
Thanks Ladies!

Are you wanting to stay in Dallas or go out of town?

You could go to the Hill Country.  That is where I am going.

The Gaylord in Grapevine is like a mini city. We have thought about doing that. :)

Do you have any idea where you want to go? What's your budget?
I'm a big fan of cruises. Includes your room (obviously) and all of your meals.

It's not in Texas, but my DH and I were looking for a cheap getaway and we were going to do a weekend in Hot Springs.  http://www.lookoutpointinn.com

A B&B weekend in Fredricksburg could be nice.

Here are some other places I made note of:

    Hill country:

    Granbury:

This place is kind of rustic--but every cabin has a hot tub!  :)http://www.thehideawayranch.com/activities.htm

Even Austin and San Antonio can be fun. HTH!  We ended up going to Vegas for our "cheap" weekend--it was fun and can also be done inexpensively.

We are only having a mini honeymoon (2 days) since we are taking his daughter back to Corpus Christi after the wedding (a week after). We are tired of CC so we are going to stay in San Antonio at the Emily Morgan (my dream is to stay there!!) We got the King executive Suite ;-) Very cheap (from Hotels.com) and they have the best margaritas in the hotel restaurant! ;-)

I am so glad to hear not everyone has a week of R&R time they can use! Actually my FH had mentioned going to San Antonio... we would stay here Thursday night after wedding and drive early Friday morning so still  have a pretty full day... I have never been so I am clueless on the wheres aand lodging... Is that like a hotel or more B&B? thanks for the help!!

    Fredericksburg would be awesome!

And it isn't in state, but Branson in December is magical too!

When FI and I were looking for honeymoon spots in Fredricksburg we used the website www.texaswinetrail.com, and it gave us tons of great ideas for what to do.

Stephie mentioned Hot Springs, and as someone who went there at least twice a year growing up, I can definitively say it is well worth the trip.  Downtown is amazing, the hiking is beautiful, and, oh yeah -- REAL HOT SPRINGS SPAS.  It's wonderful.

We went for a weekend in San Antonio last year for my birthday, and it was really fun! We used Priceline to get a cheap rate on a 3.5 or 4 star hotel on the boardwalk, but for a honeymoon, might be a good idea to go the route PP suggested and try to get a suite!

It's fun to just walk around and sample the food and drinks at all the different restaraunts on the boardwalk! We found a piano bar at one hotel that we really liked.

I also really liked touring the Alamo, although it was a little depressing so IDK if it's necessarily a honeymoon type of activity :)
