Waco Vendors

Hi everyone,

We are tentatively planning to get married in Waco in May 2012 and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions of vendors for everything from cakes and photography to venues. We are in the very early planning stages and nothing has been decided definitively yet. Although we do have a reception location we found that we both liked a lot. However, I don't have a ceremony site yet.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, especially budget Friendly ones!!

Best,
Jackie

For flowers, we had a Knottie use Sherwood's Florist.  Any Dallas photographer will travel to Waco.  I don't know if the chapel at Baylor is available for weddings but it's lovely.  I googled "wedding cake Waco" and several came up.

Armstrong Browning Library does weddings I believe, and it's gorgeous! I had my bridal portraits done there. Also as PP stated their chapel is pretty too.

I have been to a NUMBER of Waco weddings.  =)

Reception: Palladium, Roosevelt, and Phoenix Ballrooms are all lovely.  The reception I went to at the Roosevelt didn't have enough seating for the large crowd, but it was really nice.

Photography: PPs are right that any photographer will travel, but I know a lot of the girls I went to school with have used Ashley Munn and her work is beautiful (no idea about price).  You could also go with Josie Roby (capturedbyjosie) -- she did my engagement pictures and is really reasonable!

    Catering: Best Yet

I've also been to lots of parties at the convention center and the Hilton.

Oh, and some friends had the band Blind Date at their reception and they were amaaazing.

Amanda, do you know of any ceremony sites there? I think she said she had a reception venue but not a ceremony space...

I would check the vendor sticky and previous posts as well. I bet most vendors from DFW would be willing to go to Waco.

Oh.  Uh, I know a lot of the historic houses host weddings (we went to one, but I can't remember the name).  I think Palladium and Phoenix would accommodate a ceremony.

Aside from that, Waco has more churches per capita than any other city, so you'll likely find one.  I have had friends get married at the chapel in Truett Seminary and Miller Chapel on Baylor campus.  I think Truett is bigger than Miller.

Hey there...I am getting married at the Palladium in Waco in T-minus two weeks and counting! OMG!!! Here is a list of my vendors, and I highly recommend every one of them! They have all been AMAZING!!!
Invitations / Wedding Coordinator: Amanda Firmin owner of Hello Love www.helloloves.com

Catering: Festive Occasions (we ended up using her and we love her, but she was our second choice because Patti was booked) or Patti's Kitchen

Flowers: Lauren with Baylor Balloons & Flowers (Don't let the Balloons fool ya...she is truly a God send)

Ceremony & Reception: The Palladium - Chris ROCKS!! We were considering a chapel on campus as well, but it's parent's weekend so nothing was available.

Cake: Gwyndene (Miracle Worker) Hunt ...PM me and I will give you her contact info. We wanted something a little different and wanted it to taste authentic, and she nailed it. We are having spice cake for the bride's cake!
Alterations: The ONE, THE ONLY />>>Becky Fowler!!! 'Nuff Said Kiss

Makeup Artist: Angela Karr (I'll have to look up her info for you, but she is a direct rep for MAC and can make an ugly duckling into a swan.

Hair: Brandi Hyland at Vanity A'ffair...her magic is right up there if not higher than Angela's

Photog: Steven Mackie  www.stevenmackiephoto.com I found him in Austin of all places and he is incredibly talented, affordable, and super artistic. We love his work and can't wait to share photos with you!

Hope this helps...again, just give me a shout if you'd like more info, otherwise, official vendor reviews and pics will be posted soon after 9/24/11!

Jackie- how many guests are you planning for? There are several beautiful chapels on campus...also is there a particular vibe you're looking for? I have thoroughly enjoyed my wedding planning and would be more than happy to help you look for a chapel. (Just sayin...) ;~)

    Hi Ladies,
We are now getting married on June 2 (my niece was graduating from college at UNT on the original date we picked out).  Reception is at the Palladium.  Still looking for a ceremony site. Thanks for the suggestions above, I will definitely check those out. Side note, found out there is a bridal show in Waco on Sunday the 25th, so hopefully I can find some good vendors for cakes, flowers, etc there.  We are also possibly wanting to do a photo booth and I have names of several companies in Austin, but if you know of some good ones in other areas, I am open.

    Thanks,
    Jackie

Photobooth vendors would probably all travel.  Texantreasure made a list of all the photobooths she'd researched, and it used to be on the vendor site, but I don't know if it is anymore.  I'm sure she'll pop in with her helpful advice!

I have used BOOTHbooth photobooths (at a friend's wedding), and my only experience was that they were more than I expected and the email from the owner was really poorly written, but the photos from the wedding I attended were AWESOME and they even incorporated the B&G's logo on the little filmstrips we got.

And I know LeForce has a photobooth TYPE of setup that is just a white backdrop with a camera, no enclosed booth.
