Opinion on attendant gift

I am trying to figure out what to get for my MOH (who is my only attendant). She currently lives overseas, so getting her anything of any substantial size is a no-no. Jewelry also doesn't seem like a great idea, as she is very much not a girly girl, and the jewelry I'm making her for the wedding will be some of the only jewelry she owns. So I'm trying to think of something small and nice. She asked for one of the lace doilies I'm knitting for the wedding centerpieces, but I want to do more than that. I thought of maybe a massage GC, but at the same time I'd rather give her something that will last. Do you have any ideas? We are both in our early 30's, grad students, busy, kinda poor, haha, the whole grad school shebang. I thought of knitting her something more personal, but I won't have time to make anything nice before the wedding...my DIY time is kinda booked until then. Argh. Anyway, TIA for any thoughts!
What has four thumbs and is totally stoked about getting married? These people!! Wedding Countdown Ticker

  • What is she interested in?  Does she like books, movies, wine, sports?  What would you get her for her birthday?

When I was in grad school, there were few nice things in my life - nice clothes, nice linens, nice cookware. Even the useful stuff was basically disposable. I still treasure the quality stuff from that time in my life (iced tea spoons, blankets, and quilts).
