opening gifts

This may be a stupid question but...

We've received a few gifts from our registry. Are we supposed to wait until the wedding to open them or is it ok to open them now?

Re: opening gifts

  • You should open them now (but don't use them until after the wedding) and send thank you notes as you receive presents.

this exactly. also, keep track of what people gave you.
  • You should open the gift and send a thank you card immediately. I wouldn't use the gift until after the wedding though (just in case you end up needing to return it).

  • I think you should open them now and send a thank you note so the sender knows you received it, plus it's exciting...HOWEVER...my lovely mother decided that if it's meant to be a shower preset you shouldn't open it until the shower!  So she gets to them before I can (since I have them sent to her house for safety) and she hides them from me!!
